Over 2,300 Stand Up for Change with Michelle in Rhode Island

by Marc from Providence,RI

Friday, February 22, 2008 at 08:15 PM

Michelle Obama got a crowd of over 2,300 fired up and ready to go in Warwick, Rhode Island at CCRI on Wednesday evening. The night was kicked off with a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by Cumberland Mayor Dan Mckee's daughter Kara and his niece Kate.

Attorney General Patrick Lynch, an ardent Obama supporter and superdelegate introduced Michelle's brother and Brown University Head basketball coach, Craig Robinson.

Michelle took the podium and electrified the crowd. Her powerful and inspiring words left many in awe. She spoke of the difficulties regular folks face in today's world. She spoke of the difficulties families face when the bar keeps moving and what it will take to make sure every American has the opportunity to reach that bar.

21. Rhode Island and Vermont are insignificant and don't count. I think Texas is headed toward not
counting either. I'm not sure about Ohio yet though. :)

11. because they have a primary
on March 4 and it's close. Alas, I don't think anyone will bother with VT which also votes on March 4. Obama will win here, but he could really make it an epic blowout if he made a brief stop.

10. She is truly amazing.
I wish I could have attended. Thank you for sharing.

By the way. . .our eclectic little state's motto is "HOPE."

We were founded by a dreamer who believed in Religious tolerance.

But boy oh boy is it ever a quirky place.

LOL

19. Hopefully not.
I don't see good things for the Obama campaign coming out of that hypothetical stop.

On the other hand, I encourage the Clinton campaign to select Peter Griffin to be a local surrogate and campaign organizer in Quahog. ;)
