ABC: Clinton Camp Pushes O-Bomber Links: Ignores Her Own Radical Ties
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4330128&page=1

The Hillary Clinton campaign pushed to reporters today stories about Barack Obama and his ties to former members of a radical domestic terrorist group -- but did not note that as president, Clinton's husband pardoned more than a dozen convicted violent radicals, including a member of the same group mentioned in the Obama stories.

...

Opting to leave any attacks on the issue to the GOP may be wise, as attacks from Clinton could backfire. In his final day in office, President Clinton pardoned another one-time member of the Weather Underground, Susan L. Rosenberg, after she had served 16 years in prison on federal charges.

Rosenberg had been arrested in 1984 while unloading 740 pounds of dynamite, a submachine gun and other weapons from the back of a car.

...

And in 1999, President Clinton also pardoned 16 violent Puerto Rican nationalists responsible for more than 100 bombings of U.S. political and military installations, after they promised to renounce violence.

So Hillary pulls a two for one: gets all dirty and nasty (which undercuts ANY good will she may have garnered from the close of yesterday's debate) in service of John McCain AND it's an attack that just went splat on her husband's own legacy. Her campaign is positively incompetent. Put a fork in it.

5. So what is the ole' Taylor going to do if Obama gets the nomination (which is highly likely)?
Normally, she dumps a candidate when the going gets tough. She did that to Kerry and Edwards. When will Hillary be given the shaft by Taylor Marsh? 'Course, Taylor burned bridges with Obama, so this has got to REALLY back her in a corner.

12. Well, for a while, Taylor Marsh was a BIG FAN of John Kerry.
I used to check out her blog because she would write nice posts about him, and this was post 2004. Then The Joke happened. She wrote a post at how he screwed up, and then never wrote about him again (until he endorsed Obama, and then she wrote a breathtakingly hateful post about him which was the exact opposite of how she had been writing about JK previously). Then she suddenly was writing about Edwards all the time. I am not sure why that stopped, but she somehow tired of JRE. Then she started writing more and more about Hillary, and the anti-Obama vitriol started rearing its ugly head. Thing is, if Hillary doesn't make it, what will Taylor do? I certainly will never trust her again.

I've always said that I will vote for the nominee, no matter who it is ... but she is making it increasingly difficult to keep that pledge. Dems get enough of this shit from the Repukes, they don't need it from other Dems, too! :grr:

For a Democrat to do this to another Democrat is simply despicable! What's next? Is she going to call him "Osama" during the next debate? :eyes:

24. This is beyond stupid
The Republicans have tied every left wing wing radical of the 1960s to the Democrats. That IS the most extreme version re-fighting the 1960s - after positioning the Democrats far to the left of where we were. Ayers was an extremist in the 1970s, but at the point he tangentially knew Obama he was well within the mainstream.

The Clinton problems really are bigger - and they are more recent. The other thing is, are we sure that neither Clinton ever was at a party with a 1960s radical?

I wonder though if HRC herself approved this effort - I would like to think that there was some level of decency she would demand and that she was too smart.

26. The candidate is responsible for her campaign. No more second
guessing is coming from me. The candidate sets the tone for their campaign. Obama has made it clear to his that this kind of smear would be absolutely unacceptable, and his campaign has followed suit. I believe that we can no longer blame Mark Penn for this. This is Hillary's campaign.

36. Sadly, you're right
This campaign leaves me with no respect for either Clinton. What hurts the most is all the years of defending them. I would never have believed they could sink as low as they have this year. It almost science fiction - they had looked and seemed to be flawed, but at their heart good people - but this year it's like that was a mask and it has been pulled away. It is disillusioning. I hate the thought of the good people who would be pulled into defending her if she gets the nomination - knowing the world can't afford 4 more years of a Republican.

so he doesn't seem to negative. Also, it gives his attack more leverage because Hillary said it too.

In August, the President announced that he was granting clemency to sixteen Puerto Rican nationalists, members of a group that had committed acts of violence, though these particular people had not.

voters are weary of personal attacks that do nothing to move this country forward. Clinton can't figure out why she's losing and things going REALLY negative will in some way help her, convienently forgetting her own past which will immediately come back and bite her in the ass.
