I would like to see Obama run on a fusion ticket..
It may be too early to discuss this, but heck, why not?!

I would like to see Obama run on a fusion ticket. It would be really interesting to watch McCain try to fight against something like that.

I think it would do alot to support his claim of being able to reach across the aisle to help put his ideas into action.

The only question is who would be the best choice.

I think Obama/Rice or Obama/Crist

4. I couldn't even accept them.
As I said below, God forbid, but what if Obama dies?

2. Way more harm than good...
and besides, for chrissake, what if (God forbid a thousand times over) he were to die?

No Republicans on the ticket. That way lies madness.

3. Remember that the Veep is the tie-breaker in the Senate. While that
may not be an issue often,it is still something t consider when tossing around the idea of a mixed party ticket.

10. How about Jeb Bush?
:sarcasm:

Seriously though, we don't need any games to win this one. The next eight years will mostly be about fixing the problems caused by Republicans. Having some stray running around will only cost us valuable time.

11. Hagel would be the only option
for that idea that i can think of.

Still I think he's better off with a Democrat. It would be interesting though.

You're missing the genius of this thread. It's truly insightful.

I mean, a respected, less-than-totally-rabid Republican, sure. There've got to be a few around. But Crist? Or Rice? I mean, really?

22. I am serious
I just threw a couple of random names out, I would like to hear other ideas. As an observer I would really like the idea of seeing someone, who for years now has been preaching the idea of harmony in government, I quote Mr. Obama from his keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention

"there's not a liberal America and a conservative America - there's the United States of America. There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America. The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported it. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America."

Wouldn't selecting a vp from the "dark side" show that he really believes what he preaches. That he believes in the "United" States of America?

24. Okay, I can think of a Republican who's a true uniter in every sense, & a liberal to boot!
Barack Obama and Ulysses S Grant: 2008

The neocons wouldn't stand a chance with this perfectly balanced ticket. Black with white; Democrat with Republican; populist with bimetalist; dove with hawk; the living with the undead. What's not to love?

26. It's really hard for me to see any way to "fix" what's wrong
in this country by including one of those responsible for destroying it.

War criminals? People dedicated to destroying the middle class, public schools, the labor movement? Dedicated to taking away a woman's right to choose and treating GLBT Americans like second-class citizens?

Sorry. No way. These people cannot be reasoned with. They must be beaten.

One of the problems I have with Obama, by the way. I'm not sure he gets it. I think Edwards does. Too bad he's out of the running.

23. I don't think this is necessary. He may need to mend fences within the party the way Clinton is..
behaving

I don't think this is a good idea at all. Also it gives a Repugs the incumbency in 2016.

It would be much better in the long term to have another Dem as V.P.
