29. I've stayed away from this from dialog until now...
This is really difficult. But, I can't ignore what is going to happen if I don't get behind Hillary.

My logic tells me that the only reason all those asshole republicans have been behind Obama is that he can be beat like a rented mule. Hillary Rodham Clinton CAN NOT. I'm not playing a race card, but when I see the media circus, I am having flashbacks of how the Iraq war effected the "unthinking". Sorry, but if you are going to use your brain, you can't be serious that we will win with an Obama candidacy. THAT IS NOT TRUE. That is not true...

They say you have to fall in love, then fall in line withe candidates. My heart was broken by her, but it will mend as I try to fall in love in my upcoming Pennsylvania Primary.

All I know is that she is FAR more qualified than he. We have so much shit involved - how can we NOT pay attention to this one?

This means I support her from now on.

I was never ashamed of her.. I was heartbroken...

I have mended my heart.

I will support her.

44. Welcome. I agree with you. Do you remember that experiment in the 60s,
Blue Eyed, where the schoolteacher split the kids with blue or brown eyes and created "racism" in them after only one day? She's devoted her life to stop racism, and now gives workshops around the country for adults. It's very powerful. One thing she says on the video by the same name was about Colin Powell. This was made at the beginning of the Bush Administration. She said, now it is impressive that Colin Powell is where he is today. But they won't let him get too high up. You just watch. He'll make excellent decisions, etc., but they'll never let that stand. They'll give him the sense of impending success, then they'll pull him down, "no you don't, boy," just like they've always done.

None of us believed it at the time. Powell looked like teflon. Of course, now we know, and it happened just the way she said it would.

There are very good reasons to support Clinton. Among them, bills she's sponsored just in the last year:
SOURCE: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/person.xpd?id=300022&ta...

S. 1240: Compassionate Assistance for Rape Emergencies Act of 2007
S. 2415: Protection Against Transmission of HIV for Women and Youth Act of 2007
S. 1816: National Women's Rights History Project Act
S. 1800: Compassionate Care for Servicewomen Act
S. 1075: Unintended Pregnancy Reduction Act of 2007
S. 766: Paycheck Fairness Act

Whatever Obama's stated positions (and I know he says he stands behind women), he has sponsored or introduced no bills to support women.

56. "He has sponsored or introduced no bills to support women" -- is this true?
Do you value bills that affect women only?
Or does something that helps families, or improves air quality or voting rights count?
Women vote, and breathe, and are veterans, and have to struggle to pay bills. A bill to address these DOES help women.

I like Senator Clinton, and like many of her positions. I would never say that she does not support men in the case of SCHIP, for instance - that helps both sexes, moms, dads, brothers and sisters alike. Same with the Paycheck fairness Act you cite above.

To be fair and honest, the same with bill sponsored by Obama. Many of which are co-sponsored by Clinton.
TO BOTH OF THEIR CREDIT!
The fact that the roadblock republicans keep blocking both Senators' bills is frustrating, and one we need to address by getting more progressives in Congress.

Here is a partial list of bills he has sponsored:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.CON.RES.53 : A concurrent resolution expressing the sense of Congress that any effort impose photo identification requirements for voting should be rejected.

Do women vote?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.697 : A bill to amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to improve higher education
, and for other purposes.

Do women need education?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.918 : A bill to provide for Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) refueling capability at new and existing refueling station facilities to promote energy security and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Are women affected by global warming?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.969 : A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act with respect to preparation for an influenza pandemic, including an avian influenza pandemic
, and for other purposes.

Do women get the flu?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.1180 : A bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to reauthorize various programs servicing the needs of homeless veterans for fiscal years 2007 through 2011, and for other purposes.

S.AMDT.3144 to S.CON.RES.83 To provide a $40 million increase in FY 2007 for the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program and to improve job services for hard-to-place veterans.

Are some veterans women?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.1194 : A bill to direct the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to establish guidelines and procedures for tracking, controlling, and accounting for individual spent fuel rods and segments.

Are women affected by radiation?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.1426 : A bill to amend the Safe Drinking Water Act to reauthorize and extend provisions relating to contaminant prevention detection, and response.

Do women drink water?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.1630 : A bill to direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish the National Emergency Family Locator System.

Are women included in families?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S1638 : A bill to provide for the establishment of programs and activities to assist in mobilizing an appropriate healthcare workforce in the event of a health emergency or natural disaster.

Are women affected by natural disasters?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.1685 : A bill to ensure the evacuation of individuals with special needs in times of emergency.

Do women need evacuation in times of emergency?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
38. S.2484 : A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to prohibit the disclosure of tax return information by tax return preparers to third parties.

Do women value privacy?

--------------------------------Of course!--------------------------------------
There are literally dozens more, but I don't want to spam this thread.
We should really be more honest in our communication about each candidate.
Democracy is a responsibility, and one that should be taken seriously.
To do anything less is a disgrace, and a betrayal of that responsibility.
Regardless of sex, creed, race, gender identity - we progressives should work together, and do so with honesty and mutual respect.

Don't you agree?
