Read it and weep: "Hillary: unhinged on vouchers"
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 08:22 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
This sort of thing, my dear friends, is why I don't often post here any more...

While lurking just now, I read a post noting the widespread simultaneous linkage of the words "Hillary" and "unhinged," on DU today, and questioning whether it is a talking point from somewhere, rather than the spontaneous word choice of a lot of different posters.

So I googled "hillary unhinged" to see how the buzzword had spread, thinking there might have been a Daily Kos post, or MyDD or some other influential Dem site with a "Hillary is Unhinged" piece a lot of folks might have read independently this morning.

I almost fell off my chair laughing at what popped up on "the google."

It's the title of Michele Malkin's daily anti-Hillary screed from Last Night
Hillary: unhinged on vouchers
By Michelle Malkin • February 22, 2006 09:48 PM

Hillary screeches that providing inner-city and poor students with more choice in education will lead to a a “school of the Church of the White Supremacist ” and a “School of the Jihad.”

Correlation is not causation, of course, but it's still worth a smile.

1. So if Bush says the sky is blue, we should disagree with him?
What is your point?

3. I believe the poster's point is that the word "unhinged" has been linked with Hillary before
and by none other than Michelle "some people say" Malkin, who was right in the middle of swift-boating John Kerry.

A number of us noticed the sudden appearance of "Hillary unhinged" tonight on GD-P. That single word - "unhinged" appeared everywhere next to Hillary, out of nowhere. What a remarkable coincidence. Or not.

Flip flop.

5. Many times, by many people. It's a pretty good word for her Barack-stole-my-strawberries rant.

8. I agree
This is too much to be coincidental. It seems we're being infiltrated by freepers who really, really don't want Hillary to win. I wonder why?

13. I think that the Republicans don't want a Democrat to win.
As some have pointed out, the word "cult" appeared in association with Obama rather quickly.

It's disappointing to see fellow Democrats cheer on these tactics. They're the work of the devil and they will be used against our nominee, whether it is Obama or Clinton.

12. Oh sweet Jesus
then what is an acceptable word to describe her awful behavior? I think calling her a bitch is lame, but we can't say "unhinged" just because Malkin did?

Google "Bush" and "unhinged" and you get twice as many results as "Clinton" and "unhinged" or "Hillary" and "unhinged." It seems people who don't like Bush use that word more than people who don't like Hillary.

Are there any other words we can't use because Malkin used them? She uses the word "the" a lot, and so does Bush. Can I use it? Pretty please?

4. "Results 1 - 10 of about 224,000 for hillary unhinged" But I'm sure it was all Malkin's fault.

11. I doubt that Malkin thought it up all by herself.
For the record, I don't think that this is coming from Obama's campaign either, so I don't know why you're defending it.

This is the same swift-boat crap that took out Howard Dean, John Kerry, and Al Gore. If Obama is the nominee it will be turned on him.

I'd think you guys would help us shut down an obviously Republican smear campaign. It's disappointing to see you actually pretend you can't see what this is, just because it happens to be directed at Hillary. It will be Obama next.

14. "Look, there's a wolf! Really! I don't see why you guys are defending the wolf. The wolf will
eat you next. Seriously, there's a wolf this time. I don't blame you for the wolf, so I'd think you'd help me with this wolf situation."

10. Yes. Historically only right-wingers use the word "unhinged"
It couldnt possibly be the it was an accurate word to describe the situation. And as Ive said many times. I prefer the term ballistic. Maybe I got it from some other two year article Ive never read. :eyes:
