Why does Nader refuse to run for the Democratic nomination?
This is what I don't understand about his candidacy. If he is serious about what he believes, why doesn't he run for the nomination and participate in the Democratic debates? Was he shut out? If he was, I haven't been able to find any evidence of it.

Nader and Kucinich could've done a great job tag-teaming the other candidates on universal health care, on the criminality of the Bush/Cheney admin and why they need to be held accountable, on corporate welfare, etc. So why didn't he? That's what makes me feel that his candidacy is more about vanity than results.

1. Nader would say there's no difference between the Dem. and GOP
parties - they're both corporate parties.

Not saying I agree with that, just that I think that's what his comment would be.

6. He could be one if he wanted to be.
I mean, if he wants the party to change, why not change it from the only place you can?

Instead, he runs as a third party bomb-thrower with no chance of winning. And I just don't understand the logic of that.

If Nader campaigned in a unifying way instead of a destructive way, he could even get a place in a Democratic administration. He's an attorney, so why not Attorney General? Could you imagine the work he could do there?

That's the tragedy of Nader to me. He's like a man who refuses to cross the street to help someone being murdered because jaywalking offends his integrity.

5. How many Democrats would vote for him?
I wouldn't. Ever. Even if he were the last candidate on earth. He's down on my lists of the lowest of pariahs with *, Rove, Limbaugh, and several others.

7. The Dems wouldn't conform to Nader's massive ego
Nader is running on the Nader ticket. It's all about him.

I mean, let's be real here - can anyone even tell me what any of Nader's issue stances are? He has absolutely no substance whatsoever.

9. Because he is not a Democrat and should not be discussed in a pro-way on DU
Nader is a shit stirrer - that's all he has ever been. He is a self-serving blowhard who loves the attention he gets from disrupting the political process.
