VIDEO: Hillary mocks Obama
Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 04:24 PM by tammywammy
Hillary Clinton Mocks Barack Obama During Campaign Rally

Hillary Clinton's campaign is on its last legs after suffering a string of defeats to her rival Barack Obama. Clinton made the decision to go negative in an effort to halt Obama's rising momentum. Today, Clinton was at a campaign rally in Providence, Rhode Island, and she mocked Obama and his message of hope and change in a very theatrical, over-the-top manner.

Watch the video from CNN below, and tell HuffPost whether you think Clinton's line of attack against Obama will help or hurt her campaign:

They are why her negative numbers are so high.

But by all means, keep hate alive. She'll go down in flames spectacularly on March 4th.

Of course she was exaggerating; she meant to exaggerate. Good god, grow some layers on your skin, if you think this is awful. You'll need those layers if Obama becomes the nominee, because Republicans won't stop at some humorous mocking.

17. Study in contrast. Obama Rally in Austin...
Warning: this is an article from the NYT.

“I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views,” Mr. Obama wrote in “The Audacity of Hope, his I’m-running-for-president book. “As such, I am bound to disappoint some, if not all, of them.”

Feb. 24, 2008

AUSTIN, Texas - Barack Obama has a Barcalounger manner about him these days, padding about those campaign stages like a man commanding his den.

Mr. Obama is on an electoral roll, polls show him pulling closer in Ohio and Texas, crowds show him the Big Celebrity Love, what’s not to like? A touch of cockiness is discernable in his manner now; he is like a gambler convinced his every dice roll will come up double sixes.

His rally in Austin, Tex., on Friday evening fitted his hoped-for-narrative.

STOP TAKING MONEY FROM LOBBYISTS

Honesty, is anyone gonna fall for that one?

I watched that speech up until 2:32 et but had to run an errand and left about 5 minutes before that little incident. I am sorry I missed it. Up until then she had been telling us about how bad everything is, mortgage crisis, gas prices, the war etc etc etc. It was so depressing I couldn't believe she was doing it.

Are her new advisors telling her to be as depressive as possible? I suppose that is more money wasted by a failed campaign if they have.

Also, we had a contest on this board a few days ago to guess her next slogan. Did anyone guess "Everything Sucks"? If so I think we have a winner.

any way you choose. the bottom line is Obama can inspire and unite people. And if the way he's run his campaign is any indication of the way he'll run this country we'll be in good shape.

The people HRC surrounded herself with have run her campaign into the ground. Didnt get her delegates filed in PA, out of money before super tuesday, cant pay her vendors, had no clue how the primary process in texas worked...should I continue...oh yeah, then there was that pesky vote on the Iraq war.

I am no fan of Hillary's, never have been

I voted for O, I like his message, but I am voting for a politician, not an Icon

I don't like the infatuation, rock star, cult of personality, messiah like, etc etc etc public persona

It cannot last until November!

I didn't know this had been building for so long, I guess I wasn't paying attention back then

look at this image from April of last year nymag

the sky is opened, the light is shining O has arrived, all that is missing is the celestial singing

56. I'm voting for a politician too. The hype will come and go--but he's
a damn good politician, a good husband, a good father, and I think his policies and personal history will make him a good--or great--President. Why fall for the RW smear job of him as an empty idol or messiah? That's what Hillary is trying to tap into, with her mockery of him, and it's unfortunate--she should leave that up to the GOP. I was an Obama supporter since he declared, because I'd had my eye on him as a really smart, thoughtful guy who could get something done in Washington. I feel the same way today, watching how he ran his campaign. It's not his fault the media is building him up to tear him down--he doesn't present himself that way, and you shouldn't be buying it.

35. Obama's doing a good job of making the media folks like him, too
Which, like it or not, plays a role in this silly thing we call a campaign run. From the end of that article:

...perhaps it is more fun playing the tease. In Edinburg, Tex., Mr. Obama briefly stuck his head through a blue curtain at the far end of the press room.

“Crank it up, guys,” he yelled to reporters bent over their laptops. “Words matter. Don’t listen to Hillary.”

To which he added: “That’s a joke.”

A reporter asked a question. The candidate smiled. And he disappeared from sight.

in the run up to election '92. I recall the flustered, sputtering Bush angrily making fun of Clinton's nose (bozo) because he felt his entitled second term slipping from his grasp.

Hillary's little theater attempt has the same feel.
