It would be so easy to slap down the NAFTA mailer.
All she has to say is that she thought NAFTA was bad legislation when Bill signed it, still thinks it's wrong, and will push with the full power of the White House to get it severely amended or withdrawn completely. Yes, I understand that won't happen. For one thing, I don't think she can afford to throw Bill under the bus. The proverbial rock and a hard place.

Her inability to repudiate NAFTA is what makes that mailer effective - especially in places that have been absolutely destroyed by NAFTA.

2. Yes, but there is more than one quote
where she said she supported it - even in her book.

18. How so?
Now you know, and I know, what she's written in the past, but the claim is that she privately fought against NAFTA at the time. IF that claim is true, she could easily slap down the mailer -- though like I said, that would require drop kicking Bill and I don't think she can afford to do that. Instead of fighting over the meaning of "boon" and calling shame on Obama - she could easily diffuse the situation by calling shame on the actual bad guys - the ones who used NAFTA to put Midwestern factory workers out on the street.

You could find the truth if you're really interested. Otherwise, believe the lie.

23. Uh, Jim honey
Please, go back and read my posts again - it's way beyond merely obvious that I'm so totally NOT supporting Hillary when it comes to NAFTA.

I know you don't think so, but really, YOU are the one failing to comprehend.

24. She set out to prove she could be muy macho. Ugh.
Just what we need. Another phony who grabs her crotch and starts unnecessary wars.

She and Bush both suffer from that - wanting to appear macho when neither is.

Leadership is not about prancing or posing or posturing. It's about stepping up with calm, measured approaches to problems. With Hillary, as with Bush, everything is a slogan, some kind of posturing designed to sell some specious notion.

hilary she totally lied about Obama's stance on something..so many lies I can't remember all they tell.

That may seem like a weird segue ..I hope you know why I thought of roseanne.

9. Why would you expect her to put down NAFTA when she can't even admit...
a mistake with her vote on IWR... Be serious, she doesn't have it in her to say the magic words.. "I'm sorry, I F***ed up"... So if you vote for Hillary, you will be voting for another 4 years of GWB.

11. That would carry more weight if she said it before challenged on it. Instead she
praised it in her book as one of the shining moments of the administration.

Too late to take that back now -- the toothpaste is out of the tube.

22. I don't think she can..
when her time as the First Lady is touted as experience. How can she say she was against NAFTA when it is in her resume? If you can't influence your spouse, who can you?

26. I think she is going to lose Ohio because of her support for NAFTA
Once people in Ohio figure out that she was for it and she is lying to them, she is toast and Obama will most certainly be the next president.
