Hillary's campaign knows why the photo is damaging
I don't buy their response for a second.

Enough.

If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.

This is nothing more than an obvious and transparent attempt to distract from the serious issues confronting our country today and to attempt to create the very divisions they claim to decry.

We will not be distracted.

If she spoke out against the photo, I would give her the benefit of the doubt, but her campaign isn't stupid.

1. The only ones who seem to have a problem with the picture are Obama
& his support.

3. Drudge used to be the place for freepers to feed their own anger.
Now it's where Obama people go to get their daily dose of outrage.

4. I like this kind of reply.
It suggests that anyone who finds that kind of politics offensive is an Obama supporter. Since most people find that kind of politics offensive, it's a beautiful example of self-marginalization in action.

12. Are you ashamed that Obama wore that garb? Did he do it against his will?
What embarrasses you about it? Why is your embarrassment Hillary's fault?

2. The campaign that keeps "giving"...
It's such a distraction--I keep trying to get some "real" work done, but it's hard to keep up with it all. What's that style of painting where you keep throwing paint at the canvas and wait to see what sticks??

13. Implying that Obama is a muslim
Then acting like it was no big deal, using it for their own political gain.

Clinton does not have that problem wearing traditional dress. Give me a break

15. Her campaigns response
I'm sorry, but that has BS all over it.

She could have handled this civilly, but she used it to make her own underhanded attack.

16. I don't think that is true. I think Obama is afraid of the truth and is lashing out
at everyone in his way.

17. It's the lack of context that makes the picture damaging
The same phot in an article on Obama's visit to Kenya would be innocent. (Just as the strange Kerry photo from when he visited the high tech clean facility - is posted here and on the right to mock an intelligent, serious man.)
