Nation of Islam Minister praises Obama as the "hope of the entire world"
and it's all Hillary's fault.

Yikes.

9. I have not been able to find Obama's response to this endorsement, have you?
It seems to me that if Obama has not responded to the endorsement, it could be a safe assumption that Obama agrees with Farrakhan and the messianic implications Farrakhan made, no?

11. Not at all. This just came out today, and it takes time to filter through
Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 02:07 PM by still_one
in addition no one from the MSM has asked him the question

if you read the link that you supply, it doesn't say it is an endorsement, though in your title, you use the word endorsement, but that is OK, both sides want to demonize the others candidates

I won't fall into that trap.

farrakhan is anti-Jewish, Obama and Clinton aren't, so if that is the implication it is false, and I certainly hope that isn't your implication

A picture has circulated on the internet today with Obama visiting a country, and trying on the local garb. A Muslim connection was trying to be made with this photo, though many leaders try on local clothes and participate in local customs when visiting other countries. Hillary has done so herself.

You want to play nasty, I will not play nasty back. I will vote for WHOEVER THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE IS, whether that is Clinton OR Obama

but until that nominee is chosen, I am still an Obama supporter, though that does not mean I endorse the slurs directed by Obama supporters to Clinton supporters here on DU, and I also do not agree with the slurs directed by Clinton supporters to Obama supporters here on DU

People only speak for themseleves, NOT necessarily for the candidates they support

17. Obama responded to the endorsement IMMEDIATELY.... and said he didn't want it.....

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-farrakhan25feb25,1,4595663.story

"Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton.

But you didn't know that.... right? (sure you didn't) :eyes:

link only mentions "past pronouncements"

That's two strikes.

Want to try for strike three?

22. The second link has a statement made by Obama's campaign YESTERDAY.....
....

saying:

"Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton.

That statement was YESTERDAY. What part of "has not solicited the minister's support" don't you understand?

26. Yesterday yes, but about past pronouncements
Not about the current pronouncement: implications that Obama could be the messiah that the Nation of Islam believes will create a world with one government.

19. Lie much?

His campaign responded immediately.... and the response is in most of articles about Farrakhan's endorsement.

If you "have not been able to find it", then you have never done an internet search in your life.

Or you're lying.

I'm guessing the latter.

"Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton.

28. You tell me to "give this crap a rest" when YOU started it
I am only responding to your post #9 to me, which you said that it is a safe assumption that Obama agress with him:

"It seems to me that if Obama has not responded to the endorsement, it could be a safe assumption that Obama agrees with Farrakhan and the messianic implications Farrakhan made, no? "

The question here is what crap are YOU trying to push?

Unless you can demonstrate where Obama agrees with farrakhan, then you are as bad as the Obama supporters dissing Hillary

YOU GIVE IT A REST

6. Good for Obama. A solid argument in his favor
That is the frigging truth, it IS an argument in his favor if he has the balls to make it, rather than act like a hurt puppy anytime someone notices his middle name.

That is the point. He can turn this to his advantage or he can let the Right run over him with this - but you know they won't stop trying to do that if he is our candidate in the General Election until HE finds an effective way to stop them.

All he has shown me is an ability to scrore sympathy votes in a Democratic Primary by accusing anyone who notices his race or heritage, at a time or place where he did not choose to notice his race or heritage, as being mean. That line may work in a primary contest that he is running fueled on hope, but it won't in Novemeber.

8. If Obama makes it to the G/E, I believe the ensuing smackdown will be historical.
Republicans are at DEFCON 1, maximum readiness for Obama, all the while Obama struggles at level 5 with all this crying over Hillary.
