So long as the circumstances surrounding it are made clear -- as they are in the Obama-Somalia photo.

To me, this photo shows a smiling, vivacious, fun-loving and intelligent American woman, clowning with her friends and family at Halloween. It clearly shows her humanity, her sense of humor and her ability to laugh at herself.

Does Obama have a sense of humor and the ability to laugh at himself?

If so, why don't those qualities come across in photos of him?

Do we know who is indeed responsible for circulating the Obama photo? It could be the Repubs just as easily as Hill's camp, or even someone outside of one of the campaigns. Secondly, this photo of Hillary accomplishes what? I have even put a photo of her on here in Indian garb in a NAFTA thread. The witch photo and the Indian photo are just silliness, I will say, and have no residual effect on the candidate. Obviously, Obama in Muslim garb ties in to the lies that he is Muslim and perhaps a Manchurian candidate. This probably hurts him with the most uneducated of the Indies and soft Repubs. Politics become such a shitty thing sometimes, but we do have a candidate that can overcome this, I'm not too worried long term about the impact of this photo, as there is plenty of time for the O campaign to diffuse this. The one thing that has been most helpful about Kerry's failed 2004 candidacy, is that Democratic campaigns know they MUST respond quickly to any accusation or threat.
