Something for Obama supporters....from a neutral Democratic voter :)
The town of Obama, Japan:

A poster from a Japanese pachinko gaming center shows US presidential candidate Barack Obama. The gaming center, based in the little western Japanese town of Obama, which shares their city's name with the presidential hopeful, shows their support for the Democratic candidate. The name of the gaming center is Daitoryo, which means president in Japanese. The center features specials deals for customers every 'Super Tuesday.' The town of Obama, which means "small shore" in Japanese, is hoping Obama will become the next U.S. president and choose the city for an international summit

11. I think it's comforting to know at least one town in Japan is for Obama.
Already he's becoming a uniter. Really, we are not very well liked in this world of today. I hope this is the start of something big.....Is that song?...Yeah, well I still have the audacity to hope for it..

20. My husband, who's Japanese, translated this poster for me:
Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 08:57 PM by jenmito
"Super Tuesday's Decisive Battle

Supporting Rate number one store President

Feb. 19 (Tuesday, 10am) president Obama branch big open fire

Here's a battle cannot lose is here"

(Basically it's a poster of words that don't make much sense but are words to attract people to play pachinko where this poster is located. But there really is a town named "Obama" and they ARE rooting for him to win.) K&R. :)

22. No problem. My husband looked over at my screen and said, "What's that?"
He was already aware of the story about the town of Obama, Japan, so when he saw me reading this, he just read it and laughed (and told me the translation of the parts I couldn't understand). :hi:
