Walk a mile in a man's shoes.
If you seek to gain understanding of where they are coming from.

Obama should use this publicity regarding the photo just released to his benefit, and turn the smear on its ear.

Attacking those who released the photo infers that being muslim, or wearing muslim clothing is something to be ashamed of. Obama should be proud of that photo. It takes humility and honor to wear the traditional garb of a foreign nation. Taking the time to walk a mile in another man's shoes gives a person a far better perspective of that person, and enables friendlier relations in the future with better understanding. These are strengths, not weaknesses. This is what leaders are supposed to do. It is what statesmen and diplomats do. This is what Presidents should do.

Don't let the right wing control the message. Turn the smear on its ear. I'd love to see Obama come out with a series of advertisements with the photo - entitled walk a mile in another's shoes.....

1. I don't judge a man until I've walked a mile in his shoes.
Then, I'm a mile away with that guy's shoes, and he'll never catch up with me barefooted.

4. This is a tricky line to walk
It's not like we have a photo with Obama eating Dim Sum with the premier of China. I love the embrace of people's cultures, but I also understand the strain of xenophobia that has gripped the country since 9/11. There could have been statements made that played up the global community we live in while also denigrating the type of racism that the release of this photo is intended to induce.
