It looks like the Clinton strategy worked...
I haven't seen a whole lot of hopeful threads over the last couple of days. It's been NASTY and vitriolic... but it's been politics.

At last Obama is being seen by more and more for what he is. A human being. A politician.

Just like the rest of them.

And maybe folks will vote for Obama or Hillary for the right reasons: on the ISSUES and on character instead of on empty platitudes.

If Obama wins after being brought down to a human level, I say all the power to him.

If Hillary manages to pull this out, then I say go grrrl!

Of course the cynical side of me thinks that the media played us by pedestalling him in the first place :)

2. Are you even listening to her speech RIGHT NOW. Or do you just spew without hearing what she says.

7. It's amazing how tone deaf Hillary and her supporters continue to be!
They really think Hillary's erratic behavior is HELPING her and hurting him?

19. I agree...
And Hillary is running her campaign dangerously similarly to how Bush/Rove rsn Bush's. I hope and think the voters will notice this and she'll slip even further in the polls.

If anything, it's been counterproductive to her campaign.

But we'll see March 4th.

8. One might also say she too is being seen for what SHE is.
Namely, she is fundamentally what you see she has wrought: "NASTY and vitriolic."

There is nothing wrong with negative politics imo....sometimes it is just fine to point out when and why someone is wrong.

Negative politics does not equal dirty politics.

She should have done this long ago....I am concerned that she is just running out of time. She should have pointed out the BS the moment we all started smelling it.

10. He was always on a "human level."
It was the media and others who claimed he was some sort of messiah, or cult leader. People see what they want to see. It is what it is.

11. This must really feel bad for the Obamites to have to hear this.

But it's about time. This aura should never be put around anyone. It is not even surreal, it is unreal to see the how he was being cannonized by the media and most of all his core base of supporters.

21. the main thing HRC smear did was give the repubs
a free attack. BO will still win and he's taking these cheap shots without them getting dirty. HRC is going scorched earth - bring everybody down with her. Now we're seeing why so many dislike her.

12. I am not sure I understand your title, but I agree with the rest of your post.
Obama has stirred the masses and that is good, but I do fear that people will not be able to defend him on the issues.

I would love to see a combo of the two, though I fear the divisiveness perpetuated by the media and exemplified by this forum will prevent that.

17. Obama HAS been on the issues. You don't get it.
Obama has said time and again that you need both sound policies AND a way to inspire people to get behind them. He has said time and again that change is not easy and it won't be easy. These are not "empty platitudes." Inspiring messages DO matter. They always have. It is part of effective leadership. No one is drinking koolaid. People desire to be inspired. People want to believe that something better is possible. What the hell is wrong with that? It should be welcomed. I am so sick of this rotten, pathetic cynicism. GO OBAMA !!

I appreciate the well put candor of your post. I have no problem with a strong vetting process in the form of a vigorous and honorably fought campaign.

I look forward to having the chance to work together with you to assure that the victor in this process gets to the White House, and keep them honest once they get there.

Signed,

An Obama supporter.

24. Me thinks you miss the major issue here. Obama, whether on a pedestal or not
has brought out thousands maybe hundreds of thousands because of the hope he can do something different. He might and he might not. But the hope is what has brought out the people. If he loses the nomination, the hope goes away. And many thousands of people will go home disappointed that the system has stepped on them again. Business as usual.

25. Sue, you are right. The whore media chose obama early on
it has been non stop pro obama. This was the meaning behind the snl saturday night telling us the media has been whored out to the obama campaign.

All this Wailing And Gnashing Of Teeth about HRC making fun of obama. well hell, it is obama that has made hisself into some type of messianic figure. Hell, it is amazing he is not selling action figures at all his speeches. Hell, maybe even cut a cd or dvd with all his speeches so that once his ass losing either in the primary or the general obama folks will have something to soothe their broken hearts...

If you remember it was obama that said the day before the new hampshire vote that when a person stepped into the voting booth the heavens would open and a light would shine down on you and you will have an epiphany and a voice would tell you vote for obama.....

30. Amazingly blind to reality as are most Hillbots.
And always pointing the finger at someone else for their candidate's failures.

Ohhhh, it's the media, right?

The media made HRC overspend her campaign budget.
The media made her choose her big-state strategy.
The media made Bill make that comment about Jesse Jackson.
The media made her call a press conference so she could audition her "eat your peas!" tantrum.

This is just pathetic. Buy a clue from someone, please! You got beat, plain and simple, but a black man with 1/10th the name recognition and connections that your candidate had.

Of course, none of that could possibly be Hillary's fault, could it?

:eyes: :puke:
