You Obama supporters are really sickening me...
You always preach that your candidate is a "uniter" who will breach the divides in our country...yet all I ever see from Obama supporters on this board is ripping on Hillary Clinton. It's always, "Hillary is crazy" or "Hillary has lost her mind" or "She's a b*tch."

For people who are voting for someone because he says he can unite, you sure are awfully good at dividing and disrespecting.

Hillary would make a great President. Barack would make a great President. We're all Democrats who want a better home for our children and grandchildren to live in. How is ripping apart our Democratic allies going to do that?

Stop being hypocritical and saying that Obama is a great uniter when all his supporters do is divide.

Either that, or the man is a magnet for liars with impulse control problems and nothing but contempt for liberalism.

I actually sort of like Obama, though I detest his methods. But his supporters...

Man, I hope some of them are not real supporters.

36. Where are the reasonable people that support Obama?
They are certainly few and far between as far as I can tell, here and in real life. They were like dogs on a bone at my caucus. HE claims he is a uniter, but I sure haven't seen it. In fact I have never seen so many aholes congregate around one candidate since GW Bush. Hillary is not my first choice, but Obama is definitely no choice as far as I am concerned.

I love both Obama and Hillary. It's just his supporters get to me because they seemingly act like if Obama didn't get the nomination they wouldn't vote for Hillary. Which is really dissapointing because we're all Democrats who would rather die than see four years of John McCain.

As for me, I will vote for the nominee, regardless.
Even though she mocks us, even though both Bill and Hillary say a fellow democrat is "not qualified to be president" I will vote for her if she gets the nom.

And this OF COURSE implies that ALL the supporters for the other candidate act EXACTLY as the worse elements here on DU....

Seriously, there's plenty of assholes on both sides here. Bottom line, if anyone here is judging candidates based on DU responses, they truly have issues. And judging ALL supporters by the insane political junkies who frequent this site is just silly. You really need to get a sense of proportion - DU is just not the place to do it.

Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 11:24 PM by Blue_In_AK
than Clinton assholes on DU because there are so many more Obama supporters here. It's a ratio thing.

Say you've got 20 Hillary supporters and 100 Obama supporters and one-fifth of each group are assholes. That would be four Hillary assholes as opposed to 20 Obama assholes. Thus logically it seems like all of Obama's supporters are assholes because they equal the total of ALL of Hillary's supporters and outnumber her assholes five to one. But in reality, the vast majority of both candidates' supporters are just regular nice people who happen to differ on who's their favorite.

The bad ones spoil it for everybody.

32. You are wasting your time ...
Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 10:56 PM by Trajan
I want you to do this:

Count all the DUers who exist ... (Membership is at 114,000 members) ...

Then count all who are still active (I would guess about 20,000 active at least)

Then count all the number of different posters who act like utter assholes : I would posit around 100 ....

Now lets do the math ...

Total Asshole Factor = Number of Assholes / Total Membership = 100 / 114000 = 0.00087719298245614035087719298245614 Total Asshole Factor

Approx. 0.087 % of Total Membership are assholes ....

-----

Active Asshole Factor = Number of Assholes / Active Membership = 100 / 20000 = 0.005 Active Asshole Factor

Approx. 0.5 % of Active Membership are assholes ....

-----

See how that works ? ..... So you are complaining about something that approx 0.5 % of Active DUers might be guilty of .....

It seems a waste of your time ...... Doesn't it ?

33. Hillary has proven by her words and actions that she is a divisive person

She will not concede nicely. That is the perfect ending to her pathetic campaign that is clearly going to be seen by political historians as the worst run, the most inept and the most divisive in recent memory.

She will go out like a poor sport. She will make it harder for women who want to run for President in the future because of her horrible lack of character. She will never fully recover from her tarnished legacy and will be seen as a sad example historically.

Her story isn't over yet. She has much lower to go and she will do her best to be seen as everything a leader shouldn't be.

39. I'll give you my take as an Obama supporter.
First, we are mad at the way Hillary is dissing Obama and all of us, his supporters by the way she's acting. We get on the defensive a bit--it's natural when you are being relentlessly attacked.

Second, we are just so happy that we have a candidate we like and trust and who, wonder of wonders, is actually winning. We are delighted each time we see evidence of his good ground game and superior quick-response team. He's running a tight ship, and it makes us so happy that we put our trust in someone so capable. It gives us confidence, and sometimes our joy just comes out in posts at DU. It's not gloating as in "haha, you lose". It's just happiness that we want to share with each other.

Each and every Dem here should be happy that the talent Obama has is on our side, not the GOP's. It means a win in November if we can keep this thing going.

"All his supporters do is divide" is simply false. We want you on board. We want all Dems to unite. I don't name-call here, and many of us don't. Some do, and that's unfortunate.

60. some supporters tend to be unruly no matter what any candidate promotes.
we are the unwashed masses, mere rabble. so it should be expected to find many varied personalitys.

64. a good rule of thumb for me has been to put the most rabid Hillary
supporters on "ignore" (that's what it's for). Secondly, I don't wade into Hillary celebration/victory threads. And when they pop up in Obama celebration threads, as they inevitably do, it gives me another opportunity to use that funky little "IGNORE" feature. Admittedly, that list just keeps growing, but it makes my DU experience so much more positive.

82. I was willing to cut Hillary slack, especially after the last debate, but
she's the one who then started with the childish gutter politics. I've had it with that lady! How can anyone trust her after her performances (as in acting) this week? "It's an honor" => "Shame on you!!!" => "The heavens will open...". She's off her meds or something, criminey!

83. Don't use such a broad brush...
I don't hate Hillary.

The board and the party will work to re-unify as soon as Obama seals the deal.

That probably will happen in 8 more days.

We will need Hillary supporters to win the GE.

It does no good to eat our own.

Oh, and Obama will unite the party and the country; DU will take of itself - in fact, you may be surprised just how well we come together. :)

86. Shame on us!
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 09:46 AM by longship
The only solution is for all of us to stop sniping at each other and get together. Many of us support one or the other of the candidates. And some of us still have not committed. Advocacy on these forums should be positive. Argument should be based on issues. Name-calling and other sophomoric crap has to go.

There is a lot of bullshit being flung in all directions and it has to stop.

The thing we all must realize is that the culmination of the current process will be a Democratic nominee who will be far, far superior to the Republican counterpart. We will all unite behind that candidate who will then win handily in November.

So, all of you, tell me why it is in any way necessary to post childish garbage like that on these forums. What does it gain?

Does it help support your candidate of choice? No!
Does it convert others to your point of view? No!
Does it help Democrats win? No!

Shame on all of us. Stop this shit!

Everybody please calm down!

Sorry, I cannot recommend this thread. I'm too ashamed of it.

94. They not only divide people...
they actually make people HATE one another. I call that behavior as divisive as George bush..and that's divisive! When Obamites express
such pure hatred of Hillary...how can they expect us to like Obama?

Don't they think about the consequences before they post all their crap?
I guess not.
