11. Yeah. Texas is too big.
My fervent wish is that Obama sweeps the rest of the primaries. Hillary deserves to have her ass kicked out of this election by the voters, since she has shown that she does not deserve to even compete in it.

I was just coming to post this.

http://cbs11tv.com/politics/obama.clinton.poll.2.662519.html

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 News) ―
In a new poll conducted for CBS 11 News and 1080 KRLD, Barack Obama has moved ahead of Hillary Clinton among Texas Democrats.

The new figures show Obama with 49% and Clinton with 45%. SurveyUSA polled 704 Texans who have already voted or said they are likely to vote. The margin of error is +/-3.8%, so the poll very nearly shows a statistical dead heat.

Still, voters in North Texas seem to be pouring into the Obama camp. Since our last poll one week ago, Obama has gained 4 points and Clinton has lost 5. Clinton held a two-point lead among locals, and Obama leads 57% to 38%.

"We were just overwhelmed by the level of support and the amount of people from Dallas that came to see him," said Debbie Mesloh, a spokesperson for the Obama campaign. "He's going to come back. Dallas is a crucial area for us and is incredibly important."

The biggest change comes with Hispanic voters. A week ago, Senator Clinton had a 30 point lead, but now that lead is down to 13 points.

Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 11:05 PM by Drunken Irishman
Wisconsin was a statistical dead heat, too. But by the time Tuesday rolled around, Obama had won by 17.

The trend is clearly on Obama's side and with a week left, he'll only build on that lead.

71. "kiddies"
Kiddie math from today's NYT:

Age 45+

December 2007:
Clinton 39%
February 2008:
Clinton 39%

+0

December 2007:
Obama 24%
February 2008:
Obama 50%

+ 26

Over 45 is your definition of "kiddies"?
This 47 year old thanks you for your compliment.

46. That means they will split the Rio Grande Valley districts 2-2 ...
since Hillary needs 62.5% of the vote there to get a 3-1 delegate split. So Hillary won't gain any delegates at all in the most heavily Hispanic districts in the state, where she has spent the most time campaigning.

15. Sitting on a large lead in RI HRC campaign release this press release
BREAKING NEWS PRESS RELEASE FROM CLINTON CAMPAIGN

Rhode Island Officially known as State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations is the state that is most equipped to decide who should be our next president for the following reasons:

-Rhode Island was the first of the thirteen original American colonies to declare independence from British rule

-Rhode Island is one of the most reliably Democratic states during presidential elections, regularly giving the Democratic nominees one of their best showings. In 1980, Rhode Island was one of only 6 states to vote against Ronald Reagan

-In the 1984 Reagan landslide, Rhode Island provided Walter Mondale with his 3rd best performance

- Rhode Island was the Democrats' best state in 1988 and 2000 and 2nd best in 1996 and 2004

-Rhode Island gave John Kerry a greater than 20 percentage point margin of victory (the third highest of any state) with 59.4% of its vote

-All but three of Rhode Island's 39 cities and towns voted for the Democratic candidate

-The Fox show Family Guy takes place in a fictional town in Rhode Island named Quahog

-The nautical nature of Rhode Island's geography pervades its culture. Newport Harbor, in particular, holds many pleasure boats

-A now defunct professional football team, the Providence Steam Roller won the 1928 NFL title

-Fort Adams, on Narragansett Bay, was the setting for the finish of Eco-Challenge 1995.

-State motto- Hope

If Sen. Obama is not able to win in this one of the most Deomocratic States of the Union which is famous for its cultural, athletic, ecological leadership then he should do the party and the country a favor and quit the race.

Hillary - 13

Hispanics - 28% of the electorate
Hillary: 52

What's interesting is that this latest poll shows that Hillary's white lead has gotten larger. Their previous poll showed Hillary with a 53-41 white lead.

That's encouraging. If we can keep that up. We can have a pretty strong lead going into election night! At this point, I don't think it matters how much Clinton wins Texas by, as long as she wins. If she wins Ohio by 10 points, takes RI and wins Texas by 4-5 points, it will be a big night for Clinton. It will put her in a position to press FL and MI. And with that, she gets ever so close in the delegate count.
