Wink: if your tired of the faux ignorance of the "muslim smear"...
Let me say first, of course there is nothing wrong with Obama having Hussein as a middle name or wearing a turban while visiting another country.

But, there is new tactic here. (since the Clinton campaign sent out a response earlier) It is to attack Obama for being "ashamed" of muslims and/or his heratige...

I have noticed that the Clinton supporters are attacking Obama for being upset that a picture of him in a turban is going around or that the flack over Obama's middle name. "why" they ask with faux ignorance... "why, is Obama ashamed of his muslim roots?" Aside from the fact that a person isn't normally considered to have religious roots when neither they nor their parents practiced said religion.... Aside from that...

It isn't what is being done(mentioning his middle name or passing around the turban picture) It's why. How many time's has Obama said Clinton's middle name in a robocall??? Zero. How many times in this particular robocall did Hillary say Obama's middle name?

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0108/Robocall_trashes_Barack_Hussein_Obama.html

4 times...

You have to ask yourself... Why? Why would a robocall mention the OPPOSING candidate 4 times anyway... even stranger that it "happens" to mention and even emphasize Obama's middle name. Campaigns have paid experts who meticulously read over every word.. every pause... every emphasis... because they want to convey multiple impressions on the subconscious mind. All politicians have these paid experts to perfect their advertising.

The picture regardless of whoever put it out their... IS out their.... and it is out their for a purposs... It isn't out their to celebrate a presidential candidate willing to dress in a foreign style as a show of respect to another country... It is out their only for negative reasons... and despite those who would accuse Obama of some kind of weird self-bigotry... we all know the reasons why these things are in the news and they are of course out their to scare the bigots away from a candidate.

So, please... wink if you think if you are tired of these smears and are tired of the faux ignorance of why they are smears. And let's hope this issue dies now.

Side Note: Today was a double bad for Obama... The picture got play EVERYWHERE and he got another "shame on you" from the Clinton camp for his complaints about the picture being passed around...(the Clinton camp trying to imply that Obama is the bigot because the Clinton camp "doesn't see anything wrong with this photo")

6. Lie much? His native country? He was born in the United States...
He wouldn't be eligible to run for President (aka Arnold) if he wasn't BORN a U.S. citizen.

But you knew that.

8. I agree on 2 out of 3.
(1) He looks adorable in it.

(2) We already know what the "fuss" is about.

(3) Obama's "native country" is the United States of America. His father was from Kenya and the outfit was that of a "Somalian elder" according to the original article.

Accuracy counts.

3. I agree with all of your assesments except this.... it wasn't a "double bad" for Obama

This kind of stuff doesn't play any more. Not in the current political climate in America, which is different from any time since the mid-70s and post-watergate. This is as pissed at the U.S. govt as the American populace has been since Nixon's resignation. The petty stuff won't work anymore....it hasn't moved a SINGLE voter yet.

This is a VERY engaged electorate (hence the turnouts), and they aren't moved by this crap. It's just different this time.

Also...

This stuff has no effect on most DEMOCRATIC voters anyway .... it only affects Repugs and Indies. So... it won't hurt too much in Ohio and Texas, because the Repugs and Indies voting for Obama there have a greater hatred of Hillary than Obama - even with these pictures.

AND... but getting this out of the way now... Obama has effectively neutralized this for the General Election. He's taken it off of McCain's table for the fall. It can't be "sprung" at the last minute by McCain.

The net result of today is ANOTHER news cycle won by Obama.

Relax, my friend.

7. And even my republican parents don't give a hoot. They know every
statesman/diplomat/politician participates in local customs and garb when they visit other countries. Pffft. My outrage today is devoted solely to Hillary, at her new pathetic low.

16. I disagree...
this wasn't a news cycle won by Obama... the last three days have consisted of attacks from Hillary... but the article headlines are {Democratic bickering heats up, democrats squable... Obama and Clinton take off the gloves etc}... this helps Hillary in that it shows(wrongly) Obama down in the dirt... This ruins his message of being above petty politics.
