11. I truly hope so
this in-fighting that is being brought to a different level every day by the Clinton campaign is hurting the party-par for the course though as they showed exactly what kind of shit they were OK with since the John Kerry botched punchline deal-they showed their hand even before the '06 election when they along with her "good friend" John McCain came out on TV with their condemnations OF Kerry-scumbags

35. Obama doesn't cower before right-wing claims of "unpatriotism," because doing that
allows them to set the definition of patriotism and of pride in America. If you debate your opponent on their terms, you will lose.

And only 10% care enough for it to affect their vote. And those 10% would never vote Democratic anyway... they are 10 of the 19% that still support Bush.

What's more annoying to the heartland voter...

The fact that McCain and Obama don't dress like Dick Cheney
or calling everything between NY and LA flyover country?

Flyover is the very definition of aloof.

85. "How will this play in flyover country "
The question certainly is fair. Your 'deep concern' was about how it will play in the 'flyover' areas. You were asked how many votes that constituted and you are dodging the question.

By the way, Clinton's negatives are far higher in 'flyover country' than Obamas. Oh well.

12. Hillary does not wear a flag pin and has been photographed in Muslim headwear
I have never noticed a flag pin on Senator Clinton's lapel during any of the 19 debates I have watched (it wouldn't look so great with her nice necklaces). And we have all seen the pictures of her covering her head in the Muslim fashion.

So why are either of these an issue for one candidate and not the other. Is it because Hillary is seen as more "American" than Obama?

No one out here gives a shit.
We have festivals that celebrate our ethnic roots.

Men, grown men, are known to run around in leather shorts.
Some also run around in plaid skirts.
I've seen dozens of grown men strap on feathers and dance.

No one out here is gonna care. It's a different region of the country that cares. The STUPID region.

it doesn't matter. They'll vote against their own best interests. They'll "support the troops" and vote to keep the war going (even though the troops want out). A few weeks ago, I was talking to a person who is far, far away from being well off. I didn't know her political leanings at all, but went into my anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-Republican spiel anyway, wrapping up with an Obama stump speech. She told me she's leaning toward the Democrats, but her husband is going to vote for a Republican BECAUSE OF THE "DEATH" TAX. You really can't change a dumb person.

It seems Obamites are either unaware of history or ignore it if it raises uncomfortable questions about the pie-in-the-sky campaign. One reason Dukakis, who was a "new" candidate of "change" who led by as many as 17 in pre-election trial heat polls, lost was he vetoed a pledge of allegiance bill.

The Somali thing is not an issue if he can finally put down the radical Muslim smear. If he can't then that photo will be everywhere as "proof".

As much as we like to demonize Senator McCain around here, I just don't see him pressing that issue, personally.

111. That *IS* the answer. Don't respond, instead point out the REAL bad thing they are doing.
Wearing a flag lapel pin or not is nothing compared to denying the troops body armor in Iraq. That's how you deflect from yourself and make the Republican sorry they ever brought it up.

"Osama might be muslim" "Bush is best friends with the Saudi Royal family who paid for 9/11"

113. Accusation/Response chains...
Accusation: "Obama and the democrats well be soft on the terrorists."
Response: "What about Bush holding hands with Saudi Royals who paid for the 9/11 hijackings? That seems pretty damn soft to me."

Accusation: "Obama well raise taxes."
Response: "At least he won't ship all of our jobs to Mexico, India, and China like the Republicans have."

and so on... when they make a claim about Obama just point out something they did worse. Simple.
