This is a shame that McCain sets an example for Hillary. It should be the other way around:

McCain Disavows Comments About Obama
Feb 26 02:49 PM US/Eastern
By LIZ SIDOTI
Associated Press Writer
CINCINNATI (AP) - Republican John McCain quickly denounced the comments of a radio talk show host who while warming up a campaign crowd referred repeatedly to Barack Hussein Obama and called the Democrat a "hack, Chicago-style" politician.

Hussein is Obama's middle name, but talk show host Bill Cunningham used it three times as he addressed the crowd before the likely Republican nominee's appearance.

"Now we have a hack, Chicago-style Daley politician who is picturing himself as change. When he gets done with you, all you're going to have in your pocket is change," Cunningham said as the audience roared.

The time will come, Cunningham added, when the media will "peel the bark off Barack Hussein Obama" and tell the truth about his relationship with indicted fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko and how Obama got "sweetheart deals" in Chicago.

1. McCain and the GOP are playing good cop/bad cop--surrogate smears, and then candidate apologizes to
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 03:20 PM by wienerdoggie
look like a nice guy. McCain apologized only to the press--not to the audience.

6. Obama smears are coming pretty fast - now she must condemn unknown people for act on 2/7 that was
only the publication of a picture that Obama should be proud of (unless he is a black who hates blacks) - a picture publiched 2/7 - that is about 3 weeks ago - and now it is Hillary's problem?

12. And unlike this incident there is NO Proof at all
except from a lying scumbag that normally does not get taken seriously here. When matt "the slug" drudge releases the email as proof then i will wait for her to apologize. You can go ahead and burn her at the stake if you wish with STILL NO PROOF other than a lying scumbags. i will hold judgment and not slay the innocent.

2. If this wasn't so sadly hypocritical, it'd be pretty funny
Wasn't so long ago that Hillary got raked across the coals for siding with McCain in calling of Obama to honor his public financing promise.

But the O-Bots have no qualms about siding with McCain in order to slam Hillary.

Hypocrisy and stupidity: a dangerous mix.

4. Hillary has "fired" people she thought were "out of line". I have never seen
Barak apologize for anything vicious said about Hillary or Bill by his campaign. And McCain is just holding his fire.He isn't running against Barack yet.

7. If its apples to apples,
Ive never seen anyone introducing Obama insult either Bill or Hillary. Thats not the case with those who have introduced Hillary, and she hasnt spoken out against any of it.

13. exactly.
And as I recall, her response was that she was proud to have both of their support. McCain at least is giving the impression that he wont stand for such divisive tactics. While Hillary doesnt really seem to mind.

But what do I know, Im just a latte-sipping, prius-driving, birkenstock-wearing, trust-fund baby. Or so Ive been told by that union guy.

14. The OP is obviously not referring to paid staff.
This guy isnt a paid staffer for McCain. This guy is to McCain what Bob Johnson / Tom Buffenbarger are to Hillary. As Ive said upthread... apples to apples.

16. This Obama supporter says your OP is full of crap.
After Donnie McClurkin talked about how "The Gays" want to murder our children, Obama didn't condemn him. Obama continued handing him the microphone and giving him the stage, to spread his message of hate. His apology was a non-apology.

Then he invited a pro-gay preacher named Sidden to speak at his rallies. Sidden gave the opening ceremony, when hardly anyone was present; he did not speak about gay issues in any way. Then there were some other performances, and then Obama introduced Donnie McClurkin, calling him "my favorite." McClurking spread his message again, there in that arena; he claimed that The Gays had been persecuting him for his religion, and that they should be "cured."

Obama took prompt action. He fired SIDDEN, and issued a clear and public apology for inviting him.

--------

Politics always compromises great men and women. Obama is a great man, I fully believe that, but the McClurkin fiasco was the low point of a campaign that has been memorably low.

As far as apologies go, why hasn't Obama apologized for his participation in a Saturday Night Live sketch where Hillary was repeatedly mocked as being a witch?

19. McCain knew what he was getting when they got Cunningham
to speak. If there is anything more reprehensible than the major league RW gasbags like Limbaugh and Hannity, it is the minor league fools who Clear Channel has spewed out all over the country on local radio. Cunningham doesn't have the smarts of a Glen Beck. Can there be any more damaging a comment made about someone ? This is who St. John puts a microphone in the hands of. And the media swoons over his after-the-fact integrity. How gullible can anyone be?
