Obama campaign 3:00 pm release on debate night
This just came through my email from Obama's campaign manager....

This morning, the New York Times reported that Senator Clinton is launching what even HER AIDES ADMIT is a "kitchen sink" bombardment of NEGATIVE ATTACKS against Barack.

This is the same stale, Washington playbook that has driven so many Americans away from the political process.

Yesterday, in a speech on foreign policy, Senator Clinton misrepresented Barack's positions and compared him to George W. Bush.

She questioned his "wisdom to manage our foreign policy and safeguard our national security," despite her support for Bush's war in Iraq -- a war that Barack showed the judgment to oppose before it ever began.

These negative tactics are exactly what voters have been rejecting this election season.

2. I'm not sure they are trying to throw Obama off by saying it's a "kitchen sink" bombardment
but that she will be all sweetness and light at the debate and say how much she is "honored to campaign with Barack Obama" and then get back into attack mode tomorrow.

6. I'd reply to that but some would say I'm sexist...
for the "kitchen sink" remark....

But, that was a good one. Do you think the "XEROX" guy came up with that phrase, too?

4. Clever.

A series of negative attacks disguised as a defense against negative attacks.

Edited to add: I might be underestimating Obama's ability to fling it.

8. I think you and Hillary have.
He plays the game several steps ahead. It's about winning, and he proves time and again he has what it takes to win.

5. I'm weary from her attacks.. and I'm just reading them!
Does she know that when she attacks him, she attacks all of his supporters?

10. exactly....
like when she called his supporters...delusional....cult-like....celestial-hugging....etc. That resonates to us, not just him.....

13. You go, Obama...
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 03:39 PM by TwoSparkles
...when Hillary tries to compare you to George Bush and insinuate that
you lack wisdom, like George Bush--you hit Hillary square in the teeth with
her Iraq-war vote--which was exactly what George Bush wanted--and totally
in sync with Bush's "wisdom".

You hit her with Kyl/Lieberman, part of George Bush's Iran-war propaganda--and
showcase how much her votes enable George Bush and the neocons and is parallel
with Bush's "wisdom." She might scoff and point out that you weren't present for
Kyl/Lieberman.

That's when you tell the country that you didn't show up because
you refuse to pander to George Bush any more and play his game. That's when you
tell them that you refuse to be set up as "being for the terrorists" if you don't
go along with Bush's war games. That's when you tell America that you won't be
played by Bush and that you won't be forced to vote for Bush's bad ideas, to avoid
being painted as "weak on terror."

You tell Hillary, that the game is over. Failing to appear and vote for bad ideas
is not weak--it's a statement about refusing to play the neocon game.

Then, you hit her with her own words from one of the debates--where she admits
"trusting George Bush not to go to war". You hit her again with her own words,
where she says she thought that the Iraq-war vote was to "let the weapons inspectors
finish their job", despite the glaring fact that the resolution was titled: "JOINT RESOLUTION.
To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq."

She doesn't think you'll do it. She doesn't think you have the guts.

I say, prove her wrong tonight.
