Or at least that's what a Republican told me was one of the reasons she wouldn't vote for Clinton. I know that a lot of people on this board think that just because something happened 15 years ago during Bill's administration it's old news. Unfortunately it's not. Just because WE on DU know that it was dumb then and it was dumb now doesn't make it so for everyone. If Clinton wins the nomination then the RW will have no problem digging up all of that old dirt that we thought was buried long ago.

That being said, people don't want to face the actual point of the post. It's unfortunate, but the hate of the Clintons runs deep and just because things are in the past doesn't mean they're buried.

But I have a question, do you really think McCain would reach that far back in a debate or go after her for the IWR vote instead or anything else they collaborated on, as she was 'reaching across the aisle'? I mean, that goes way back but maybe you should post a refresher to what happened concerning that subject but that might backfire and give fuel to the trolls and info. I agree that if she is the nominee, her campaign will have to be ready and I'm sure they are, as well as she but why do we have to worry about it, other than possibly bookmarking this thread as reference to handy talking points if needed? What little I remember is he worked with them he killed himself and they were accused by the RW smear machine as "being involved." But they also accused them on Whitewater and that fizzled out and wasn't proven at all. No evidence.

some people have used the argument that all of the dirt on her is out there, and none of the dirt on Obama is out there. Therefore Clinton is safe from RW attack in the GE. The RW smear machine won't have trouble drudging up information from the past. It's still fresh in the minds of many. What's particularly startling about my OP is that the woman I spoke of always tries to pass herself off as a moderate in terms of average Republicans. If this is what a moderate republican is then imagine how deep the hatred runs in die hards.
