Hillary Clinton maintains an advantage but Obama is closing the gap

2/26 Clinton 239/Obama 178

Total Delegates Pledged . . . . . Super . . . . Total

Clinton , , , , , 1026 . . . . . 239 . . . . 1265
Obama . . . . . 1180 . . . . . 178 . . . 1358

By the way AP shows it as Obama 181/Clinton 241
needed 2024.5

Superdelegates from American Abroad 22 for 11 seats so each delegate is .5 (not quite super!)

List of superdelegates here http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/01/superdelegate-l...

Recent swings of delegates

Names can be found in above link with links to the original source of the delegate

From now on I will add the changes in a daily update downthread and reissue thread when it makes sense

5. Thanks grantcart
We also have what we call the Ultimate Delegate Tracker where we compare several different sources delegate counts.
http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/02/ultimate-delegate-tracker.html

We also breakdown how the superdelegate endorsements breakdown by position on the left hand side

20. Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin endorses Obama
http://www.argusleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080226/UPDATES/80226053

“Senator Obama is the right candidate for rural America,” she said in a press release. “He has demonstrated a deep understanding of the tremendous opportunities that come with a transition to a clean energy economy powered by homegrown renewable energy. His policy priorities as well as his bipartisan and inclusive approach convince me that he is the best candidate to lead the country forward.”

Obama said he was proud to have Herseth Sandlin’s support.

“Congresswoman Herseth Sandlin is a recognized leader in the House on renewable energy and rural issues,” he said in a statement. “And I look forward to working with her to refocus our energy policy in a way that reduces our dependence on foreign oil, enhances our national security, and creates jobs in South Dakota and across rural America.”

37. This is out of date now, MSNBC has Obama at over 200, I think 203 after today's announcements
Also Hillary has lost 2 or 3 in the last couple days also.

Things are changing so fast that you need an update every 8 hours.
