Is "conflate" the new anti-Hillary word of the day?
I just saw this uncommonly-used word in the title of 2 threads posted within minutes of each other and I thought I should ask.......

Maybe you're conflating it with something else?

And said to us, "Fear not. For behold I bring you the anti-Hillary word of the day that all my followers shall use often in speaking of she-who-must-not-be-named!"

23. Only if you have a narrow vocabulary.
The word was tossed around very frequently to when the Bush administrations was saying we should invade Iraq because of 9/11, as if the two issues were directly connected.

Hearing Bill Clinton explain Hillary's vote on the Iraq war resolution by referring to 9/11 probably jogged people's memories.

17. Wow, you did not deserve to get dumped on like that at all.
You are right.

It is a rarely used word and was used in two posts about the same subject within minutes.

And the posts were one-liners with absolutely nothing to back them up.

I'm not a conspiracy theorists, but that is really odd.

32. Yeah and they are all pretty much about the same thing.
Bush "conflating" 9/11 and Iraq.

So we can now use that phrase about one of our candidates?

And where did this Bill Clinton "conflating" these two in defense of his wife come from anyway?

18. I hate the word conflate
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 08:35 PM by quinnox
It makes me think of some pompous person who thinks to themselves they are using a fancy word and being clever stroking their ego. It sounds terrible, conflate, what a horrible word.

I also hate the word meme.

Good luck pushing that meme. It's not surprising that a Hillary supporter hates words though.

Yes, I'm sure you use the word conflate at least once a conversation in everyday life. And yes, I do hate words, and also participate in satanic rituals. Would you expect anything less from a Hillary supporter?

Peace....I was just poking some fun...I like Hillary..I will cheer as loud as you if she wins. This is just one of the silliest threads I have ever seen. Just getting caught up in the teasing. Does not anyone who thinks they can truly be the leader of the free world have to be a little pompous? Think about it!!!

35. I concur. Using conflate sends me in a state of high dudgeon.
I proffer the hypothesis that any of the sentients who use such high brow words are merely overcompensating for their own linguistic shortcomings.

Cogitate and masticate on that.
