Mark Penn Not In It To Win It?

Mark Penn Not In It To Win It?

By Oliver Willis on February 26, 2008

The Clinton campaign has sent a letter to the NY Times signed by campaign staffers and volunteers saying that they're in the campaign until the end, in order to counter a negative story about widespread dejection that ran earlier this week. Listed are people like communications director Howard Wolfson, former campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle, and current campaign manager Maggie Williams.

Mark Penn, the campaign's chief strategist and pollster, is not listed as a signer.

Is this an attempt to salvage Mark Penn's reputation by not linking him to Hillary's campaign?

4. Solis-Doyle signed the letter, but has left the campaign?
February 26, 2008

Solis-Doyle's new email

A well-connected Democrat -- who doesn't actually know Clinton's former campaign manager -- forwards over an odd email to receive, or send, in the midst of the debate:

From: Patti Solis Doyle xxxxx@xxxx.xxx
Sent: Tue Feb 26 22:15
Subject: My new email

Hello everyone,

I just want you to know that I have switched email addresses. If you wish to email me, please email me at the address I am writing you from, xxxxx@xxxx.xxx.

My phone is (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Thank you.

PSD

UPDATE: The email address isn't at the Clinton campaign, as the email originally showed. We've redacted it further because she started getting abusive emails in the moments after it was posted, which speaks for itself.

3. I believe he is the new Bob Shrum...
but asking a question like "Which Hillary is going to show up" is exactly what they did to Gore in 2000. "Which Al Gore is going to show up?" It's almost brazen...
