This debate isn't going to change the dynamic of the campaign at all, which she desperately needed to do somehow. She had such a fine line to walk where she had to be aggressive but calm too, and that's hard road to hoe for anyone. She had to make Obama stumble and she didn't.

She now has a week to figure out something to stave of defeat, and I don't see how she can do it.

6. OK, I'm sure McCain will be a fine champion of women's rights
And any people he puts on the supreme court will definitely help with choice issues, etc.

Blaming her gender for the loss is disgusting.

3. That wasn't a double. She got on base once on a walk, and got picked off leaning towards second.
She struck out twice, and fouled out twice.

27. She got doubled UP, but she didn't get a double.
She got a base on balls once. The REJECTION v. DENOUNCE. Thrown out at second when trying to steal it.

11.  If we use baseball as an analogy here is mine.....
It was a win for the home team, Obama solid pitching, great defense and no errors, visiting team (Hillary) got a couple hits, never got in scoring position, caught stealing once (in the Farrakan question), 1 error, (she played the gender card in her summation) Final score Obama 1 run 4 hits no errors, Clinton 0 runs 2 hits 1 error. Close game but Obama won with ease despite the box score.

30. Great Baseball analogy!!
I think the ennings were interesting.

I did a Time study and Hillary was out on the field more
trying to play defensive to the balls that were
hit to her and handled it well, but Obama
came through to get the winning run.

21. Idiom abuse! FREEZE!
It's not "road to hoe" -- it's "row to hoe." Think about it.
The substance of your comment is quite fair and sober however, so I'll let you this time off with a warning.

22. Actaully hard road to hoe goes back to at least 1840
I think you're right, but both are used all the time.

23. Nice. But anti-Van Buren presidential campaign propaganda isn't exactly an unimpeachable source --
Interesting though. In fact, thinking about it, I'd guess that the proto-Karl Rove who put that one out probably saw his "road to hoe" as a pun -- as people would have instinctively known at that point that the idiom used "row."

26. Look up road to hoe and see how many legit outlets use it.
I'd take a screenshot of the google search I did but I'm too lazy right now. Not saying you're wrong, just saying I'm not either. Both are commonly used. Though I think your's does make more sense.

31. Googled it --
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 12:41 AM by smalll
Googled "row to hoe" (in quotes): 126,000 responses.

Googled "road to hoe" (in quotes): 26,600 responses. And in those relatively paltry 26,600 responses, #1 was from http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/road.html telling why row is right and road is wrong, #2 was from http://www.opinionjournal.com/best/?id=110007449 (the Wall Street Journal) saying the same thing, and #3 was a reference to your 1840 campaign poster.

You don't know when to say thanks and shut up, punk. I'm taking you downtown.

25. Just like hrc did ever since the last debate, she has made folks
stop and think about the positions or non positions that obama has. She has mocked him and got pissed at him and that has made folks really stop and think about whether this man is the right choice to be the nominee, let along president. HRC did tonight what she needed to do and that was show the empty suit that is barack hussein obama. Maybe there will be enough time to turn this around and stop this country from sliding further down that rabbit hole if obama is president.
