Favorite quote from Hillary: "I can't get it together by then."
It was in reference to one of the NBC stooges asking her if she could release her tax records before next Tuesday's primaries. Sure, she was talking about tax returns....but it seemed to speak to so much more.

I really don't think Hillary can get it together by next Tuesday.

5. Ha! Just what I was thinking.
The answer was a dodge, obviously, wanting Democrats to make their choice without having that information available. She should've paid for her failure to release this information long ago.

7. Is it really that hard to use a scanner?
The returns are done, I presume. Scan-and-post. How is that hard?

What needs to be done to get them "ready"?

13. I'm not a big Hillary fan but really, I think they have a lot of work to do
by next Tuesday. And to me, her tax returns are really not that important. And I'm sure she doesn't keep her tax returns with her on the road. This is silly stuff...

15. Obama is just as busy as she is.. and he was able to scrape
time together to get his released.

Hillary's are important.. her & her husband have money coming in from all over... who is giving them money? Why? How much? For what - favors, etc?

The fact that she DOESN'T want them released speaks volumes to why they should be. Even her top supporter in Ohio badgered his opponent in their last race because he wouldn't release his tax records to the public.

20. what if some of her mone she loaned the campaign
actually came to her as donations or other money from the same sources who already gave their max contribution in normal campaign channels? Wouldn't that rise to an ethics situation?

ANyway, I was just riffing on how her phrasing on that answer sounded like it could be an epitath for her campaign. I don't think I can get it together by then.

36. Of course she doesn't keep them with her on the road
But do you really think they do their tax returns themselves? No, she just needs a couple of minutes to call up her accountants and tell them to release them to whomever. Not that hard, it's a horrible excuse on her part.

And the fact that she loaned her account $5 million makes it more imperative to me that she release them.

I think even Bill has lost his touch on the campaign trail. And as one of the top advisers in her campaign said..."how do you campaign against a movement?"

Instead of paying Mark Penn a ton of money, maybe she should have better used her budget and hired somebody to take care of this.

Yes, Sen. Clinton, we would like to know, in detail, what you were up to during those eight years. Who did you meet and when? The answers are likely to be very interesting.

41. Actually, this raises more serious memories
An ongoing theme of the Clinton administration was the witholding of records or the "we are trying to organize our files before we can release them" or claims of executive privilege.

Since the Clintons already completed, organize and sent in their returns to file them, it should not be very difficult to simply make a copy to releasen them to the public.
