Is Clinton a member of an anti-gay Church?
Is she a member of the United Methodist Church?

Because my understanding is that that Church is very intolerant of gays. They believe that homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching and don't allow gay or lesbian ministers to serve or be ordained or (in some cases) don't allow openly gay people to even join their congregation.

1. What difference does it make as long as she's
not anti-gay?

And why do some gays focus so much on the McClurkin issue while ignoring that HRC is a member of a rabidly anti-gay Church?

A majority of churches are anti-gay, including the Catholic Church I grew up attending.

Personally, I couldn't care less if Hillary and Barack worship a damn pumpkin as long as they support our civil liberties.

**On edit...it is true (after doing some reading) that Obama's church is more progressive, when it comes to homosexuality.

However, this doesn't necessarily mean Obama is more pro-gay than Hillary -- especially considering he's opposed to same sex marriage...something his church apparently endorses.

http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_ucca1.htm

bullet 2005: A resolution to endorse same-sex marriage was overwhelmingly approved by General Synod 25. The resolution calls on its congregations to consider wedding policies "that do not discriminate on couples based on gender." They also ask its congregations to support changes in state marriage legislation to give equal rights to same-sex couples. An alternative resolution which would have defined marriage as being between one man and one woman was rejected. 4 Some conservative congregations are expected to leave the denomination because of this decision. More details.

3. She must be, because Obama is.
And in all cases, Hillary Did It First.

5. Actually, it's well known that
Obama's church, the United Church of Christ, is very pro-gay and progressive.

4. most every church in America teaches that homosexuality is a sin
if that is what you mean by anti-gay. As a result, most churches then do not allow those who are displaying a pattern of sin (according to church rules) leadership positions and then even some do not even allow membership.. although most would encourage attendance.

There are a few churches who allow gay leaders though, but they would not be considered main stream by christian church standards.

There are some groups who promote hatred of gay people. The United Methodist chuch is not one of those groups though.

8. Yes - without gay men though the Catholic Church would hardly have any priests!

7. Hillary Clinton doesn't preach at her rallys.
Her religion is a private matter.

She knows how to separate church from state.
