As a long time member of DU I noticed that one of the mantras on this board were that the main stream press were screwing us...

I don't hear that mantra much anymore...Does that mean they are only screwing us when they attack Democrats we do like but are only reporting the news fairly when they attack Democrats we do don't like?

It continues daily. News stories are done using RW talking points. Selection of news stories seems to be based on not raising controversy against the admin.
I think one of the saddest things is what has happened to NPR's national programs like All Things Considered and Morning Edition. I seldom listen any more as I couldn't stand the repetition of talking points and the parade of RW think tank commentators. I am old enough to remember ATC in its previous incarnation as a program that did true investigative reporting.
Oh I could go on and on and on. No it is just as bad as it has ever been. For instance - the surge worked, right?
