This is an exciting time in American politics as centrist Republicans assert ourselves and prepare to lead our Party to victory in the fall. Unity has been a buzz word among Republican activists lately and the Republican Leadership Council stands ready to show that the core conservative principles of fiscal discipline and limited government can and will unite all parts of the Republican coalition.

The recent news articles and editorials below emphasize what the Republican Leadership Council has argued all along ? that the Republican coalition can not only stay intact, but it can also win elections if it focuses on the core fiscal principles that unite our Party and inspire the American people.

We should instead work on the common task of building a center-right majority in this election year and future ones, each appreciating that the other will play a different role in that task."

5. i don't see that coming. yet.

the media LIKE obama. more importantly, the camera likes obama. he's TV thin. his voice is mellifluous. he keeps his calm. he sounds sincere & measured & positive.

i think the MSM, Faux excepted, will be genuflecting at his feet before november.

mccain would go senile or drop cork-legged in his first term, & i believe that's going to be obvious in the debates.

6. Maybe the media LIKE the idea of having Obama to destroy

beginning right after the nomination.

Remember, the Puggies don't especially want any Dems at all rooting around in the odd corners of the White House basement for stray scraps of incriminating paper or what have you a year from now.

2. And who was the last "moderate" Puggy candidate?

Yup. Dubya. A uniter, not a divider and all that.

What scares me is that they have a perfectly good chance here to do it again. *&^%$ Independents never seem to learn.

4. McCain is making excuses for an indicted criminal whose working for his campaign.

He's trying to get out of public funding even though he signed on to it and would be breaking the law by not abiding by the limits.

If you think a majority of the GOP coalition is sticking together in 2008, you are living in a dystopic dreamworld.
