1. Another worthy method is the Klingon ancient ritual, the Ja Juct
This is where the competitors must chant the history of their family and their own actions of honor, it can take hours or days for this ritual to conclude. A mediator precides over the ceremony and must confirm each competitors claim to the council chair. If there are two or more remaining a battle to the death is the next step in the process. ;)
