OMISSIONS From BOTH Candidates- These Things Bothered Me In Last Night's Debate
What about the Iraqi people? Nary a word.

Did I miss it?

What about ILLEGAL WAR!?

Not "wrong war at the wrong time" or "strategic blunder"!?

And how about a whisper regarding Impeachment for violations against the Constitution with at least a SHORT LIST of the criminalities against BushCo. that merit impeachment hearings!!?

SHHHHHHH!!

What no longer worthwhile for someone who is certainly to be swearing an oath to protect the Constitution to mention GROSS VIOLATIONS of said document by their predecessor?

What about just the plain truth?

No longer politically acceptable?

What does that say?

Speaks volumes.

1. Other than shouting the word itself,
I haven't heard either of them actually propose any kind of fundamental change.

what about restoring habeas corpus? what about torture? what about illegal wiretapping and other abuses?

2. I don't think you can blame the candidates....you must blame the
media Russert and Williams. They focused their questions on gotcha questions and avoided asking the real questions.

They were going for the tabloid questions the whole time...and if either candidate starting to go deeper Russert and Williams cut them off.

No I don't blame Hillary and Obama I blame the involvement of media.

4. I watched and listened closely
During the time where they discussed Iraq and distanced themselves from Bush policy on Iraq both used the language of American Exceptionalism and did not in any way challenge the very nature of the policy and took pains, unless it comes naturally, to avoid mentioning the Iraqi people who are the ones who have suffered immeasurably.

I find that profoundly unsettling.

3. Illegal war
Obama did say (again, for the 5th time now) he would strike Pakistan whether or not its President approves if he receives "actionable intelligence" that Osama is within Pakistan. Pakistan is a nuclear nation-- we can hope that when he does this, Pakistan doesn't retaliate against us with its nuclear weapons.

He then said the Bush administration had just done this (the CIA did it, actually) in January (the 29th), and they should've done it a lot earlier. Obama policy = Bush policy? Unbelievable.

He also said he would reserve the right to re-invade Iraq if Al-Qaeda had established a base there (which, of course, it already has).

Argue all you want, it came straight from his own mouth.
