It was nice setting in an outside Park, we got there around 7 and at 8:30 they quit checking people and opened up the gates, and he started speaking at 9:15

1. I love these huge crowds...interesting is that in Houston and Dallas Obama spoke to crowds of 20,000
Hillary wiill be speaking to crowds of around 5-7,000 in those cities. Makes me happy.

5. It is only a 30 minute drive from Austin--so I imagine some who couldn't
make the Austin rally the other nite decided to go for a drive.

My daughter went to SW Texas at San Marcos (Now called Texas State) for her teaching cert., while she was teaching in Austin. It is a pretty area.

6. We live in San Antonio
Obama was here downtown, but the parking is horrible, it was easier for us to drive the distance

8. Yes, I forgot how close San Antonio is as well. Makes good sense to do what you did.
My daughter has moved back to MO, and now is teaching in St. Louis area. She really misses Austin, but she can be close to loved ones here, and her new little niece, so it is a trade-off.

7. Al Giordano at Ruralvotes/thefield was there and estimated 25,000.
"the San Marcos police estimated the crowd at 12,000 people last night, The Field – experienced at such measurements - estimates 25,000"

http://ruralvotes.com/thefield/?p=788

Al has an excellent account of the event. His blog has been exceptional during this campaign, providing info and insight unavailable anywhere else.

9. "And then came Obama"..
"Then came Obama, who started a three-day return tour of Texas earlier Wednesday in Duncanville and was introduced in San Marcos by Lyndon Nugent, former President Johnson's grandson. Obama thanked Nugent for his support "and everything that his family has done for this country."

Prez Lyndon Johnson's grandson..how ironic is that?
