voted today in the texas primary
and I am a little disturbed how it was handled. I voted in McKinney, Texas which is in collin county, republican stronghold of texas. I was asking about paper ballots (being a smartass because i know they don't have them) and then went to vote. Now it was very busy and the process seemed very casual. Mostly older people were there except for myself (25) and my 21 yr old brother. We went to vote on the diebold touchscreens and when i finished, took my card out and gave it to the lady. Well, she just stood there with it and kept taking other peoples, in the middle of the room instead of walking the four feet over to the desk with the guy incharge of putting it in the machine counter. I stood there watching waiting for her to walk over with it and she just stood there. It was making me a little upset and maybe paranoid. I wanted to see that my unsecured vote was actually put into something remotely secured (even though there is not paper ballots).

Then they asked me if i was done voting and i said yes, i am just waiting for my vote to get put in the machine and not being held in the hand of a nice little old lady :). I am sure they are just really relaxed and such but with all the vote fraud going on and everything, i feel like the votes should be rushed over and put in something secure. It felt like it was easy to get lost or just whatever. This one woman was in charge of getting the cards from people and helping them vote when there were at least 40 people in there voting and getting ready to vote.

Tell me I should not be warranted in my fears or anything of that nature. I voted democrat and everyone knows i did because we had to announce what primary we were voting in. I wanted a receipt or something that confirmed my vote. I asked the woman in charge and she said there is nothing to confirm it and that it would be fine but it just seems very strange and not secure and worries me for whats coming again. Should i call the election committee or whomever runs it to get their act together and kinda get the keep the ball rolling and get those cards secured. It just really bothered me. Sorry for being long if you guys read all of this, but it is hard to type all this out and be concise lol.

Yay for voting!! But we need secure ballots.

1. Yeah, we really do. It's not like we haven't known about
voting problems for years now. When will congress pass measures to protect voters? When will Diebold not be a household word? I want a paper ballot.

Say it loud everybody, WE WANT PAPER BALLOTS!

2. Thank for staying on top of their procedures
and making sure they follow through. They need to know that they are being watched also.
