2. Thanks for that article.
"Given the nature of news today, cable news and so on, when she's making a speech, we're generally watching that speech," Axelrod said. "It's a minute-to-minute pursuit and you need to be on your toes."

If Clinton says or does something and Obama's campaign hasn't responded within an hour, they consider it running behind.

*LOVE* this! And it bodes well for the general election against McCain. That is why we see the Obama campaign right out front of so many smears, misrepresentations, etc. They've really learned the lesson of the Kerry and Gore campaigns.

6. I hope they turn one of those TVs to McCain to respond to him just as
quickly - even during the primaries.

7. They have been
When McCain started the other day about "I have news for Obama..." Obama slapped back withing an hour. As a lifelong Dem I was AMAZED he fired back that fast. I have seen that happen three times this week.

The Dems need to be on the forefront of EVERY RW attack coming down the pike. At every turn we all need to be there. DU should set up a talking points thread where hundreds of us take the same message daily to the editorials, talk radio, blogs, polls, etc.

Speaking of talk radio...you know all it would take is about 100 of us for a week straight to drive someone like Rush nuts. We could blanket their phone lines and prank the shit out of them to where they wouldn't take calls. Would be fun.

4. Very impressive!
Grassroots and new technology and a bottoms up approach is proving to work so much better than the trickle down theory used by the other campaigns. Excellent. What I have been dreaming for forever!

12. Now that is leadership

I sure would like to be a bug on the wall at his rivals headquarters.

They must have gained 50 lbs. on those donuts alone!
Money Management is not their strong suit.

"Experiemce" in running a campaign indicates the kind of management that will carry over to the WH.

Fired Up! Ready to go!

13. who knew that being a community organizer was better training than being a Senator?
Barack's a community organizer, and what he did not want to have is people say, 'I want to help you,' and we'd say, 'Well, call us back in 10 months.' So we really had to build quickly to support that," he said. Added David Axelrod, Obama's chief strategist: "We made some prudent decisions initially to grab space where we could."

15. Interesting info
I don't think just anybody could connect to both the ground organizing of days gone by with the new media communications of today. Al Gore actually misnamed it, it isn't the information superhighway. It's just a new way to communicate information. Obama gets that. Kerry didn't.

18. Compare leadership in the two campaigns
it is clear that Sen. Obama has the management qualities that promote the best performance in the men and women working on the campaign.

One of many telling bits from the article:

Plouffe describes the campaign as a collaborative effort that distinguishes itself from other campaigns because it lacks the "headquarters versus the states mentality." The central mission of the headquarters, he says, is to support the states where most of the employees are.
