I just watched "The Big One" by Michael Moore and would recommend it to those who may have forgotten the 90s buzzword "downsize" and how NAFTA caused so many companies to begin leaving this country just a couple years after its signature in 1993 by Bill Clinton.
The film was made in 1996 during the Presidential race with Bill Clinton and Bob Dole and there is footage of some of the campaigns. Michael Moore had written the book "Downsize This" and the documentary showed 47 cities where he toured and each town had a company given a downsizing award as well as a check of about 80 cents to go toward the first Mexican worker to get the new job that was relocating there thanks to NAFTA. It has a camcorder feel to it without many tricky video gimmicks and takes you down the 1990s that many may remember with temp jobs, no benefits, outsourced/downsized jobs and greedy corporate welfare.
Rent it! Buy it and pass it on!
