Are There Any Hillary Supporters Here?
C'mon, let's tough it out. I ain't goin' anywhere, even though I have been called a "bush'lover" and "election-theft lover" by my supposed fellow Democrats.

45. Well a couple of weeks ago I was called "Barbara Bush"
after I had called someone "Tweety Junior",

because this person had referred to Hillary as "Harriet Meirs riding on Bill's coat-tails".

Actually, I still consider myself a Clarkie/Bidenite, but I often feel the need to rise to Hillary's defense; even if all the name calling that ensues makes me feel like I have been catapulted back into grade-school. :silly:

49. I Just Remembered Something From Hillary's First Senatorial Campaign, (Question Here):
Who was the guy debating her, who left his podium and walked toward her, like he was going to attack her or something. As I recall, that didn't work out too well for him.

Yes, you should "tough it out" - last man/woman standing is our nominee, and no one should quit the race before it's all said and done. This is just too important to be left to those who choose to walk away rather than stand their ground.

64. Nah!
I don't really rock - but I've been known to sway from side to side on occasion in time to the music.

Look, it's like this (IMHO): We Dems started off with eight candidates with the kind of credentials the GOP only dream about. And now we're down to TWO - the creme de la creme, as it were - and BOTH cadidates (and their respective supporters) should stay in this until the ultimate choice has been made.

At THAT point, it's no longer my candidate v your candidate - it's OUR CANDIDATE.

May the best man/woman win - and in this instance, choosing 'the BEST' between these two is probably the most satisfying choice we've been faced with for years!

No matter which way it goes, folks - we've got ourselves a GREAT PRESIDENT come next January!!!

71. Nance, you bring me to tears with your reality check.
Thanks for stopping in with your support.

Do you think you could get your candidate to issue a similar statement of support? I thought Hillary did so at the second to last debate (the one in Texas). Some of us believe Barack is a bit arrogant - he could go a long way toward healing wounds by reaching out to us Hillary supporters in the manner that you just did.

109. Thanks, Nance. There are lots of us here, myself included, who
started out supporting a candidate who is no longer in the race. It's been a tough process of elimination and we have narrowed it down to two fine candidates who are making history for our party. I have never seen so much excitement this early in the election cycle. When the nominee is decided, I hope everyone throws their support to him/her with as much passion as they have had for their favorite candidate up to that point.

But this is a hard place to be lately, with all the harshness and derision and contempt for Hillary and the sheer glee at taking her down.

I'm not even close to a long term supporter, I preferred Biden and was dissapointed that competence and experience are to be smeered at. Too bad, alot of good potential presidents including hillary and richardson, Dodd and of course Biden are written off for the new kid.

I would probably feel alot better about Obama if his supporters weren't such a**holes.

I'll vote for him over McCain but he has promised alot. HE better deliver.

I've been posting at odd hours at DU because of an unexpected but exciting job offer. I will NEVER abandon Hillary. She has been my first and "only" choice of candidate equipped to handle the 44th presidency..

Thanks for starting this thread. We're all alive and kicking booty when false and derogatory comments about Hillary are posted here. My new workplace is comprised mostly of "Ladies" of all ages, sizes and ethnicities. I'm doing my part in getting them to the polls to vote for Hillary on Tuesday..

How Republican of them. I swear, it's becoming hard to tell Obama supporters and Freepers apart. It's hard to find inspiration in a candidate whose supporters have negatively infected a board I've been on for 7 years and made ME feel like a stranger. I'm sick of it. 56. Oh, let me get to be the one to post the answer first.
Basically, what people do is take pictures of animals, usually cats, and put words on them as if the cat was saying something. Usually they are funny and sometimes they are hilarious.

You can go to:
http://www.lolcats.com/

or

http://icanhascheezburger.com/

to get some really cool examples of what Lolcats are.

54. I'm here, cause we got to keep the obamabots honest.....
and here again today obama showed the world how inexperienced he is when it comes to iraq....he wants to get into a pissing contest with mcCain cause he can make the claim there were no al queda in iraq before the u s invaded.....well maybe obama should read the 9 11 report....it states there were al queda in iraq and there were strong holds in northern iraq that bush decided he did not want to bomb.

this old record playing over and over that he was against the war in 2002 is getting damn old....I do believe it is 2008 and if (L-rd please no more bush LIKE) he becomes president obama is going to have to play the hand he is dealt when it comes to Iraq. If you obama folks believe he is going to bring em all home by the end of 2009, please if you have not voted in the primary then please vote HRC. At least she left the door open to hear what the generals on the ground and the joint chiefs and others have to say......

57. Is there anyone here (-ere -ere -ere -ere)? Hello? (-llo -llo -llo)....
That was my version of an echo. Pretty dark and empty in the Hillary corner.

I'm an Obama supporter. It's sad, really, that when someone wins, someone else has to lose.

We all have to make choices, and I made mine. But I am sad in a way that Hillary didn't make it (but I want Obama to make it...and I think he'd be a better President, so don't get me wrong).

It's just sad. Oh, well. She can alternatively have a long, valued life in the Senate, and become one of the icons of the Dem. Party with a lot of power.

But it's not quite over yet. As Huckabee says, a miracle could happen.

I support Hillary Clinton, she is one hell of a woman; she has brains, experiences, qualifications, and her tenaciousness! wow! I admire her and her family. Her policies and dedication are just what this country needs. She IS a doer, not a talker.

69. One of the scary things ...
... is how easily so many Obama supporters believe malicious gossip. It does not do their cause any good.

There are four threads now about the gossip of a threat that Hillary is said to be contemplating -- suing Texas for some undisclosed reason. It's about as wild a rumor as I've heard, but dozens of people are chiming in, certain that The Evil One is planning to steal the election by lawsuit; they are outraged and some are ready to riot.

Just like the picture of Obama in Somali clothing that was released by RW smear artists. The Obama partisans believed Drudge without even looking into the story.

It's not that the other guys are "mean" ... many of them are actively ignorant. No desire to verify questionable "information". No idea that gossip is destructive, not informative. It's a sad spectacle.

Speaking of which, I remember once seeing a cartoon with some little scrawny kid taunting some bigger bullies: "Stick and stones can break my bones, but names will never hurt me!" At which point, one of the bullies says "Hey, he's right! Let's go get some sticks and stones!" :)

As far as I know, no one's come up with a way to throw sticks and stones through the keyboard so I think we're safe. :P

144. I'm here. Initially a Biden supporter, but now behind Clinton.
I am shocked at the level of viciousness directed at the Clintons. Seeing some of the stuff posted here against the Clintons (including right-wing smears!) blows my mind. Its one thing to disagree with them on issues, but its another thing entirely to spit venom in their direction at the mere mention of their names.

Right-wing talking points and attacks on the Clintons have beeen standard fare in much of the public political discussion on tv and radio since 1992, thats why I liked this place so much before the primary heated up - it was an oasis of thoughtful political discussion free of hate-filled anti-Clinton attacks until this primary. If anti-Clinton bile becomes acceptable fare here once we have a nominee then I won't stay on after the primary season, but I am very hopeful that won't be the case.
