Edited on Fri Feb-29-08 06:53 AM by theHandpuppet
What? He now controls what happens inside the voting booths? I thought the voters in Ohio will decide who gets their vote, not Obamagod.

5. No, the VOTERS
in Ohio will not decide who gets their vote, the VOTE COUNTERS and Diebold in Ohio decides who gets their vote.

As in 2004? Has Ohio cleaned up their act, or is this one in the bag for John McCain?

6. Maybe you ought to find out what's happened in Ohio since 2004
Before you hedge your bets against an Obama loss by crying foul before the voting even begins.

Unlike you (apparently), I know that Ohio now has a Democratic Governor, Ted Strickland, and a Democratic Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, who has been cleaning house of the corrupt county GOP officials who've had their stranglehold on the election process. Taft and Blackwell are GONE, and some of their cohorts are also getting flushed out. If Obama loses in Ohio it will be because the voters in Ohio prefer Hillary Clinton.

8. No prob. I hope Jennifer Brunner is a rising star in the Dem party
Disinfecting Ohio from the pestilence of GOP corruption will be a good start. Now if only she could finally clean up District 2, I'd say there's nothing that woman can't accomplish.

19. well the jury is still out on us
in Georgia. We vote on the "no paper trail" Diebold machines, too.

We had a BIG surprise when Saxby Chambliss defeated Max Cleland for the Senate.

18. Yeah, right... that must be it.
Please don't insert yourself into this discussion to trash Governor Strickland. I can't think of a faster or more effective way to turn off Ohio voters than to hurl your garbage at a good man and loyal Democrat.

From the Portsmouth (OH) Daily Times
Governor shows campaign support
By FRANK LEWIS
PDT Staff Writer

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland said he has two reasons for supporting U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) for the Democratic nomination for president.

"The first reason is personal," he said. "Across the years that I've been in office, no one has been more faithful to me than she (Hillary Clinton) has."

<snipping>

"When I was a candidate, she would send me a contribution even when I didn't ask for it. She has always been faithful to me, but that's the personal reason," he said. "That's not the really important reason."

Strickland said there is no comparison as to the experience of the two Democratic candidates, Clinton and U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). "If you look at Sen. Clinton's background and experience - and what she has accomplished in her life - if you compare that with Sen. Obama, there is really not much comparison," he said....

9. I think Zogby is sick of having to explain 23+ point variances.
His 'polling' in Texas and Ohio is about middle of the road, unlike New Hampshire and California, where, unlike any other pollster, his final poll was 23-25 points (!!!!!) off the actual results.

I think he just chose not to be an outlier this time, to try to resuscitate his reputation. Too late, IMO.

20. The choice of median vs. mean understates the Zogby disasters.
Edited on Sat Mar-01-08 08:22 AM by robcon
It reduces the awful results Zogby got in California and New Hampshire, since median measures reduces the impact of the outlier results like those states. His polling was so far out of the pack, and so wrong (more than 23% difference in the margin of victory in CA and NH, calling the wrong candidate as the winner) it's hard to believe that Zogby can be considered a serious pollster any more.

If you use average results, Zogby is 6th out of 9 pollsters who measured 10 states or more.

14. Can we ban the term "Zogby" here until the primaries are over?
I can make wild ass guesses too. Mine just aren't published. Why are we publishing his? Because he has a fancy polling "rain-dance" prior to giving his wild-ass guess?
