1. Spare a thought for black women, who get it both ways.

2. Hard to say. I think sexism is more overt, racism covert.

16. I think it's that sexism is more socially acceptable...
so you see it more clearly.
Most racists realize their bigotry is NOT socially acceptable, so they hide it, but it comes out in subtle remarks. This one rightwing guy I listen to on the radio (rightwing, but very smart), was saying how phrases like 'articulate' are veiled racism because they're patronizing.
I agree with that sentiment.
As to whether more people are racist, sexist, or both, it'd be tough to say. Both racism and sexism have a long history in our country.

4. Sexism is more common and accepted overtly. Racism is still prevalent but is more covert.

15. That's a really interesting observation. We STILL associate female authority...
with the teachers and mothers/caregivers of our youth. Submitting to it infantalizes, if that's a word, us.

7. I think there are more sexist, especially if you include the world outside the US.
There is still a lot of racists, but i think females still have a harder road in proving themselves to men anywhere In the world.

I'm still sadly shocked at the open sexist attitudes shown when ever I travel in Asia.

8. Yeah, I think sexism is more common.
The sexes are more explicitly different from one another than the cultural divides across races we are supposed to forget about when making decisions.

13. The Racists are Sexist.
And the Sexists are Racists. A lot of overlap in the Bigot circles.

But, I don't believe that the Sexists or the Racists have a Voting Majority in this Country. If I am wrong, I am in the wrong country.
