What will the effect of Rush calling on Reps to vote for Hillary be in Ohio?
Rush has called on Reps to vote for Hillary in the primaries this Tues.. What do you think the effect will be in Ohio?

I am a poll worker and remember when there was a call for Dems to vote for McCain. I think I saw 12 people attempt and only 5 or 6 carry through.

I will report on Tue. if I think I see any Reps ---> Dem's.

I expect the numbers to be about the same as with McCain.

A normal Precinct in Franklin county is 800-1000 voters. In the McCain election we had about 380 voters vote, the vast majority of them are Dem.

1. Shouldn't be too bad. A lot of Reps are voting for Obama so this won't make much difference.

3. Why would Reps be voting for Obama in the Primaries? I think he has the win already.
What would it accomplish.

2. I'm losing track of who the GOP "really wants to be our nominee"
I suspect they're too busy worrying about their own 72-year-old candidate.

4. A fifth degree felony charge
There is an attestment statement that you have to make to switch parties in ohio. If you falsify that statement it is a fifth degree felony, and for those that think this is just a technicality and is never enforced it gets enforced fairly substantially.

6. What?
I live in Ohio. You go to your precinct table and ask for the ballot of your choice. No statement. Half of the time I don't even know what party I am registered in. Sorry but your facts are wrong. Peace, Kim Hussein

You may change your party affiliation at will. Every primary, if you wish.

On edit.....name 2 cases where this has been prosecuted in Ohio.

5. In our area the Thugs have a hotly contested sheriff race.
In order to vote for Hillary they would have to forgo picking the sheriff. (remember this is Ohio)Fake crossover is not an issue in this county. Not to say that there won't be some honest crossover for both Hillary and Obama. Peace, Kim Hussein

9. I'm trying to imagine the kind of person who listens to Rush being the kind of person
who, just to manipulate the results in a Dem primary, would do what he would have to do in order to vote for Hillary in Ohio. Namely, ask for a Dem ballot, and essentially become a declared Dem for all intents and purposes.

I would think it would be like Rush telling him: "Hey, there's a gay marriage issue on the Ohio ballot, and it really needs to be voted down, but the catch is, in order to vote for or against it, you have to actually BE gay, because they're only letting gay people vote on it. So you have to sign a statement at your polling place declaring yourself gay, and then you can vote NO and defeat it. So that's what I want you all to do. Sign a paper saying you're gay, then vote NO for gay marriage."

Would such a person, a faithful dittohead, be willing to do that? I doubt it.

Well, in order to defeat Obama in Ohio and help make Hillary the Dem candidate, he will essentially have to call himself, for the time being, a Dem.

I think it would stick in a dittohead's throat just as much as if he had to declare himself gay.

I just don't see there being any huge danger of a lot of them doing this.
