Here's what I have to say about Obama "hypothetically voting for war with Iraq"
As a Democratic Voter, I feel a lot less guilty ignoring what Barack Obama might have done in 2002...

...than I do ignoring what Hillary Clinton absolutely did do in 2002.

it will be effective against him as well.

10. That's pretty disengenuous
I'm not a Clinton fan by any means, but even I wouldn't say that she's like McCain. Primary blinders are the cause of that remark.

11. They are similar in how they stood on Iraq till 2005......
that is similar enough, considering the topic of this thread.

7. The greatest vote Obama never had to make
The smiling empty suit didn't even have to vote "present" or make mistake pushing a button.

12. And they voted identically since Obama took office
Pretty good evidence right there that the outrage over the IWR vote is political and opportunistic.

Yeah, yeah, I know -- "it's for the troops!" That's what Bush says all the time, too.

There's only one "right" way to evaluate a politician's record, and that's on the entire record. But that won't fit into a sound bite or a 30-character Internet post.

13. That's a good tact to take.

First, when he spoke against going to war in Iraq, he did it when support for bush's rush to war was popular. All this conjecture on these boards is to paint Obama into a particular position on hypothetical grounds.

14. Although I find it ironic that a certain poster on this thread
didn't allow Dean as much leeway in 04, I agree that Obama should be given the benefit of the doubt on this vote. He publicly stated *at the time* the IWR was being debated that he disagreed with it and felt Bush had not made his case. Even publicly opposing the war took guts in 2002, and I think too many people in this site are ignoring that fact.

15. Funny. I Wouldn't Feel Guilty Supporting Either Of Them.
They're both fine Dems who would make fine Presidents. I think feeling guilt for supporting her for such a reason is monumentally silly, but to each their own.
