Cincinnati Enquirer endorses Obama
As many of you know, I'm a stalwart supporter of Hillary Clinton but am passing this along to you as I read the Enquirer (as well as my hometown Ohio newspaper) every morning. Tuesday should be very interesting in Ohio.

Enquirer endorses Obama on Democratic side
Illinois senator offers energy, rich experiences, fresh ideas

Despite all of the jokes and misplaced campaign rhetoric, it is the experiences of Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama that have set them apart - set them above - the crowded Democratic field that started the race for their party's nomination so many months ago.

Clinton's experience as first lady often is derided as "secondhand," or somehow invalid. Actually, it gave her a perspective on the possibilities and limitations of the presidency that no other candidate for the office ever has had.

Beyond that, she has been a senator for the past eight years, carving out her own political niche on the national scene. Her service on the Senate Armed Services Committee has involved her intimately in the details of the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, subjects the next commander in chief will need to come to terms with immediately.

Obama was born to an American mother and Kenyan father, raised in a multicultural environment, graduated with an Ivy League education and worked as a community organizer on the streets of Chicago before becoming a civil rights lawyer. His life and experiences reflect the diversity of America in ways no other presidential candidate has experienced.... MORE

1. Thanks, HP
That newspaper's endorsement closely echoes my own reasons for backing Obama. Thanks for posting it.

4. Just don't trust them come November
The Enquirer is a notoriously RW rag so I fully expect them to endorse McCain in the GE. Not to mention that the election process in the surrounding counties in the district (like Warren) is totally corrupted and you can expect more shenanigans come November. Hopefully Jennifer Brunner, the new SoS in Ohio, will be monitoring the voting down in Distict 2.

8. Not only should we expect a McCain endorsement from them
they are not to be trusted when it comes to "endorsing" dems. They will do what it takes to keep the GOP in power.

I have been boycotting them for years. As have most of my Dem friends and family.

The Enquirer is a republican rag that will do anything to see the GOP elected in the fall.

9. I have to admit I always suspect any Enquirer endorsement of a Dem
Especially given their track record. Still, most folks won't be aware of that.

All should remember that there are fair minded people on both sides of the Clinton/Obama divide.
