53. It could've been more polite, too, as in:
Just say "No, Thank You" to drugs. (Please.)

15. Nancy Reagan is my least favorite First Lady,
but she's now a frail old lady and I have nothing negative to say about her.

My favorite first ladies were those who stood up and refused to fit the traditional mold of their era: Abigail Adams, Dolly Madison, Eleanor Roosevelt and Hillary Clinton.

16. According to Peter Lawford in Kitty Kelly's book, Nancy was known for the best...
... the best... uh, I better not say.

There are some things that can be said about Hillary Clinton and Brittney Spears, but about no one else, no matter how true -- especially now that Ron and Nancy have been canonized by the MSM.

But here's a hint. According to Lawford, when Nancy was a young starlet, she was very popular with virile young actors because of her beautiful knees.

That she spent lots of time on.

Their complaint is about the exercise of free speech and they only care about free speech when it's their own. When Bill is ready to lay the smack down on LGF on a regular basis, come talk to me then and ask me to say something nice.

52. Yes!
The love that those two shared was very moving and touched my soul. I am not old enough to remember the Reagan presidency or some of the bad policies that I'm sure that he enacted, but I am old enough to remember Ronald Reagan's funeral and how she collapsed in tears over his coffin at the burial service completely devastated. How could you not feel for her after that? Also, she has been a tireless advocate for stem cell research and her son, ROnald Reagan, even spoke at the DNC in 2004. Lastly, she supported John Mccain in 2000 against Bush but didn't want to break her neutrality by publically making it known. That's another good thing. Also, I'm sure that RR wouldn't have launched a cowboy adventure war in Iraq either. That decision is unique to Bush/Cheney.

Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 07:59 AM by LiberalAndProud
She has demonstrated strength in adversity. And she is still a beautiful woman. Her devotion to her husband through very difficult times, even while she watched that horrific disease take him from her, is awe inspiring. She has never been anything except an asset for America.

I say these things despite the fact that I thought her "Just Say No" campaign was naive, patronizing and uninformed, much like the abstinence program her party has been touting.

Edit to say that I don't think BillO will mention this post on his program.

47. I was much younger then. Thanks, Nancy.
I was a robust and randy 30-something when she was First Lady. Thin, in good shape, top of my game.

Now I am a broken-down late 50s something - fat and curmudgeonly.

I like that curmudgeonly part, though.
