Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 02:03 AM by Drunken Irishman
Zogby had Clinton surging by double digits Friday, which many on here used as evidence to prove she was rolling past Obama. Well Zogby has corrected the information, saying it was, instead, a one point increase for Clinton.

No surge, maybe another day.

2. Do you have a Zogby link?
http://zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1458

That one still says:
"...Clinton had a big day Friday in the Zogby call center, leading Obama by double-digits in the Texas survey. She retains a significant lead among Hispanic voters there, a key demographic in the Democratic primary..."

5. Yeah, here it is.
NOTE: Yesterday’s release incorrectly mentioned that Clinton led Obama by double-digits in Texas in the one-day of polling completed on Friday, Feb. 29. Her one-day advantage was actually one point.

10. Here's the clincher
Obama leads with the younger voters, and that lead is substantial. The youngest of those voters(under 30), by and large, don't have landlines so they're not even being polled.

See ya.

13. It also said she was up 1 among women
So I didn't give the surge any credibility anyway. She can't win if she's only up 1 among women.

15. 1 point is just margin of error anyhow
I just try to remember all the polls for Wisconsin that showed her closing in on him, only to see her blown away by 17 points after it was all over with.

14. I hope that Obama will close his campaigning in Texas...
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 02:22 AM by book_worm
I would love him to win Ohio, but I think Texas is his best bet and I think he needs to spend a little more time there to close the deal. Remember all he needs to do is win one of the big two states and Texas is most likely--and I think if he does that many key dems will begin to pressure Hillary to get out of the race--especially if it's also a close race in Ohio.

20. Well, there goes the "surge"........
But the media would prefer it doesn't end. So they will do what they can to keep things tight....Which is why Obama is "aloof" with the national press; it gives him better control over them. He gets his press from the local press, and he controls that based on his appearances. It is a smart strategy that seems to be working for him.

Meanwhile,

Hillary is attempting to get "closer" to the press now, and attempting to gain their sympathy. Problem is that she's already dogged them out for dropping the ball after she lost Iowa and came in third place.

22. agreed Frenchie...and if Clintonites think she's gotten a raw deal
from the MSM against Obama, the press will crucify her up against McCain. Some claim that Obama is a "media darling", frankly I don't see it. But, if that's true, doesn't it make sense to have two "media darlings" compete against each other?

Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 11:27 AM by Kahuna
It would have reflected a near double digit in the accumulated tracking results. Duh. Still it's fun to see old Hoim get all excited over nothing as he's wont to do on a daily basis. ;)

29. Going from a 20 point lead to a tie to anything does not make a surge.
At best it makes, hanging on by a thread.
