1. SNL a long time ago became "establishment"
liberal, yes, sort of, but above all else "establishment".

Don't you think the producers of SNL would like a 1 percent of the gross of all motion pictures that star a former SNL player?

It would be hilarious if it weren't so stupid. Gee, a politician appeared on a TV show, devoted to comedy! Oh, the humanity

And what's even worse, Hillary is appearing on the Daily Show tomorrow night! All comedians must hate Obama!

15. Sharpton is a jackass
I wouldn't say he is ignorant, but he is a deeply dishonest man. And both Sharpton and Jackson would do Obama more harm than good on the campaign trail. That's a simple fact, and I'm saying that as someone who very much wants Barack Obama to be the next president of the United States of America.

11. Imagine how Hillary supporters feel
watching just about any news show on any given day. They are consistently biased against Hillary and sometimes sexist. At least SNL was funny, although maybe not to everyone (?). It was a break for me to see a show depict Hillary in a positive way, and I really enjoyed it. I could see where very ardent Obama supporters would get angry with SNL however. The media are generally very positive for Obama and neutral/negative about Hillary, so it must seem surreal to see a positive show about her.

Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 09:00 AM by TexasObserver
The impersonations of Russert and Williams were good, but the gist was lame. Once again, poor Hillary. Poor, mistreated Hillary. Using that bad, brain dead impersonation by the guy doing Obama is simply inexcusable. Like Hillary's base, the show is old, lame, and irrelevant.

It quickly went downhill after the opening skit. Hillary's appearance was puke inducing, and the cartoon was when I turned it off.

50. surely a monolith such as SNL's perverse contempt for liberality
could be explained: or is the world indeed flat? One thing for sure; the bush extravaganza WOULD NOT have gone down so easily had Lorne Michaels et/al stood strong against it. Could it be, Michael's affinity to Israel (and Israel's profitting from bush fascism, 911 and the open crudity of fuxnews cnnbcbsabc etc) might help explain some of SNL's rightwing tilt, but.....the bushies basically bankrupted the USA, and how in hell can Israel benefit from that? While anyone can fathom rightwing solutions- small gov IS better, and freedom IS better, and crooks SHOULD pay for their crimes and lawn order should prevail, and morals should be reflected in the laws, and biz should make a profit IF they're good etc, BUT junyer bush? Upending representative democracy? That absolutely defies any understanding, and Israel is a nasty promoter of bush, probably the worst criminal in US history...unfortunately, everytime Israel is mentioned, the subject gets lost..
$3 trillion? gone!

I see them getting mocked a lot, but by reading GD-P everything negative that happens to either candidate is a conspiracy, so I wonder how some people believe in one set of conspiracies and not the other.
