Obama is a great candidate for president. I am very happy and hopeful...
for the first time since 2000.

There is an awakening going on and the people that are part of it, know it. The planet needs to be healed and quick. There is the urgency of now, it is not just words. If it was just us old fogies who felt it I would be discouraged. Like trying to get your kids to see something they won't. But no... this is so much sweeter. The young are pushing us. They are painting billboards, singing songs, taking to the streets... voting!

They are the change we've been waiting for as well.

I just had to write something positive about Barack Obama. I was thinking how different America is going to be and wanted to check DU, to maybe hear about some primary events people had been to. All I see is negative stuff about Obama.

If you feel good about a candidate that is great. I feel very good about this candidate.

Obama may win the primary only to lose us the general election because of this man. Obama is involved with him buying his house cheap, etc.

Hillary will be a target for the RWers even if she does win.

Where is Edwards when you need him?

It really isn't playing that big in Chicago.

15. It shoud be...and probably you haven't seen or heard it.
I heard it on the radio, read it on the Chicago Tribune web page, etc. The people at the court house certainly were talking about it. It is an issue in Chicago.

They mean to make an issue.

Yes.. that is how we spell Democrat (I don't type too well either).

Too bad they aren't regardless of the missing "O" in Democrat.

Bring us our Constitution first and then our Habeas Corpus in the next swoop of the pen on the first day. Can any of them say that?

Yes..I'm for that...ya, ya, ya. Happy days when that happens.

7. HABEAS LAWYERS SUPPORT OBAMA
Keeping it positive... I feel good because:

"Some politicians are all talk and no action. But we know from first-hand experience that Senator Obama has demonstrated extraordinary leadership on this critical and controversial issue. When others stood back, Senator Obama helped lead the fight in the Senate against the Administration's efforts in the Fall of 2006 to strip the courts of jurisdiction, and when we were walking the halls of the Capitol trying to win over enough Senators to beat back the Administration's bill, Senator Obama made his key staffers and even his offices available to help us. Senator Obama worked with us to count the votes, and he personally lobbied colleagues who worried about the political ramifications of voting to preserve habeas corpus for the men held at Guantanamo. He has understood that our strength as a nation stems from our commitment to our core values, and that we are strong enough to protect both our security and those values. Senator Obama demonstrated real leadership then and since, continuing to raise Guantanamo and habeas corpus in his speeches and in the debates.

8. Bush has his political lawyers too.
The ones who attach themselves to candidates don't impress me. They want jobs if he wins.

http://www.abanet.org/media/news_home.shtml The ABA is the largest lawyer organization and want our rule of law back. No torture lawyers? Constitutional lawyers? They are all lawyers who support the law of the land. Many in DC today just ignore the Constitution and Habeas Corpus (that includes the illegal war and trade policy). They ignore the people.

So what the Habeas Corpus lawyers support Obama. When does Obama promise to bring it and the law of the land...the Constitution back? His first act of office? His second attempt with Congress, etc.? His doing what is Constitutional? He and Congress gave Bush their powers and money. That is unconstitutional.

17. That captures the essence of this Primary season, well done!!
I am FOR the changes that Sen. Obama speaks of. I will be a part, albeit tiny, of that change. "We are the change that we have been waiting for". He has given us the blueprint and the motivation.
