What is Hillary's middle name?
And don't tell me it's Rodham. That's her pre-marriage last name. Every time someone uses Obama's middle name, I'd like to do the same for Hillary, seeing how so many folks say it's nothing unusual.

12. Alrighty then - It's Hillary Diane Clinton
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 03:55 PM by rox63
Nothing weird about that, is there? Except that it's not the name she chooses to be known by. And everyone deserves to be addressed by the name they want to be used. Just like Barack Obama doesn't present himself with his middle name. He wants to be known by Barack Obama. John McCain hasn't been going around calling himself John Sidney McCain, even though that's his middle name. And Hillary Clinton doesn't present herself as Hillary Diane Clinton.

27. no it isn't
legally, it is Hillary Rodham Clinton, and she uses it all the time. her middle name before marriage was Diane, it is now Rodham. And she uses it, all the time.

39. So did she just go ahead and legally expunge the middle
name Diane from her name? I will need to see the court papers you know. ;-)

Now I'm really curious, what is she hiding? Was she somehow associated with Jack, did Jack know her only as Diane and so the little ditty? Big questions all.

From now on I call her Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton all the time. If we're going to use full names we have to be consistent.

:-)

42. No, that is just traditionally how it is done when a woman marries.
Her maiden name becomes her middle name and she drops her given middle name. But....like I said, this is just the traditional way of doing this.

11. Sure. Go ahead. It's Diane. But if you want to use the rightwinger approach...
call her "Hillary Rodham Clinton."

That's what they do, you know, to insinuate that she's an uppity feminist who retains her maiden name.

40. ALL WOMEN RETAIN THEIR MAIDEN NAME, it is on our birth certificates,
after a woman marries her LEGAL NAME is Hillary Rodham Clinton, Her married name is Mrs. William Clinton, Her social name is Mrs Hillary Clinton.

Please do not be like Rush limbaugh. Years ago he said that a divorced woman should have to go to her ex husband to ask if she could have her maiden name back if she wanted to use it.

We do not LOSE our maiden names when we marry. As a matter of fact, when I had a Texas drivers license my maiden name was on it. If it had been Hillary's it would have read Hillary Rodham Clinton.

30. No kidding.
People should just realize that those that don't like Obama (I'm talking those from the R side of aisle) are going to continue to use his middle name just to piss them off, particulary if he is the Nominee. People need to realize it's not racist, just stupid.

24. No - I was just trying to make a point
She doesn't choose to be known as Hillary Diane Clinton. Barack Obama doesn't choose to be known as Barack Hussein Obama. I don't normally tell people my middle name when I meet them either. Everyone deserves that sort of respect, to be known by the name they want.

37. As far as I know it's primarily RW asshats
that are making an issue of Barack Obama's middle name. There are some exceptions, just like there are exceptions to the rule that primarily RW asshats are the ones trashing Hillary Clinton in every way imaginable.

17. I've heard people like Hannity playing all innocent. "Well, gee, Kennedy had a middle name"
But we didn't all go around saying John Fitzgerald Kennedy or Bill Jefferson Clinton in casual conversation. There's only one reason Republicans are doing it, and it's sad to see Obama's opponents pretending it's no big deal, assuming they are progressives.

Don't agree with Republican smears in the zeal to support one's candidate, that's what I say.

And it goes for Hillary as well.

So that would make it her maiden name after marriage.
