Why Hasn't Obama Been Asked & Called to Answer The Following:
-I was informed at the Campaigns / Politics forum this should be posted here, so here it is-

Why Hasn't Obama Been Asked & Called to Answer The Following:

What are Barack Obama's bedrock positions on anything we voters can rely on?

Why has Obama changed the position he claims he had back in 2003, against the war?

Obama made promises and/or let the people believe that he would stop the war and bring the troops home.

BUT NOW HE SAYS HE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEND MORE TROOPS INTO IRAQ if he finds that Al Qaeda has a base of support there... which it appears they do have and have had since Bush got us into the war over there... so which is it?

IS OBAMA GOING TO BRING THE TROOPS HOME OR SEND MORE IN -- based on what he knows right now?!

Why did he at one point support the protection of the Palestinians in Gaza against Israeli abuses, but now has withdrawn his support and is willing to to let Israel take another strip of land away from the Palestinians, which will displace 1.5 million people, possibly killing many of them?

Why did Obama pick Lieberman to be his mentor in Congress, after Lieberman had dumped the Dems to become a so-called "Independent" but marching in lock-step with Bush all the way on the war as long as Israel is always protected?

Couldn't Obama find a real Democrat to mentor him?

Why was Obama for the bombing of Iran in 2004 and against it in 2007?

With regard to Social Security, why did Obama say in May of 2007 that cutting benefits for Social Security and raising the age of retirement "should be on the table" -- in other words fair game for consideration?

However, by Nov he seems to have backed off that by saying that cutting benefits should be "off the table" -- BUT THAT'S NOT A STRAIGHT ANSWER.

IS IT HANDS OFF SOCIAL SECURITY OR NOT?

Why did Obama leave his supporters in SC thinking he'd be tough on illegal immigration, and has now wooed the Hispanic vote, by making Hispanics believe he's on their side and going to help them out?

What exactly were his actual dealings with Tony Rezko? What does the 3 year investigation of Rezko -- Obama's friend for 17 years -- reveal about Obama that the voters would want to know?

What IS Obama's position on NAFTA?

Sending people to his website to read his answers is not going to cut it. The written word can be altered, or claimed to have typos and errors.

I want to hear these answers from Obama's own mouth.

What specifically and exactly are his stands on these issues?

I Put This (My 1st Top Post) In Politics/Campaigns & Some Hostile Jerks There Told Me 2 Post It Here!

I read the rules for posting and I'm working to stay within them.

I looked for anything about cross-posting and didn't see anything.

BUT I also vary the way I put the information, depending on what I'm relating it to, hoping that this will allow me to reach more people without it being a cross post.

If people here are this hostile as well as ignorant, it's not going to get through anyway.

Maybe you can point me to the forum where the intelligent people recognize questions that need to be asked and answered to do a competent job of picking our candidate?

"Pretty please? pffft!"

21. The only forum I'm aware of in DU these days where there are intelligent people
who recognize questions that need to be asked and answered is the John Edwards forum.

You picked the worst, most hostile, forum on DU to post this (here) - with the most fanatical, childish dumb-dumbs one sees anywhere outside of Free Republic.

Thank You, Seabiscuit.

If seems fitting that it would be the John Edwards forum. He is the best that government and politics has to offer, absolutely decent to the core.

I appreciate the heads up. ~*:toast:*~

I only come here when I'm feeling particularly strong.

Best of luck to you.

Keep in mind that you won't change any minds on GD-P and it will be a whole lot more fun.

If I post what I know about Obama's reversals of stance and questionable behavior here, does that mean I cannot post them elsewhere without it being trampled as spam or worse????

5. Massively wrong on one count, at least
"Why did Obama pick Lieberman to be his mentor in Congress, after Lieberman had dumped the Dems to become a so-called "Independent" but marching in lock-step with Bush all the way on the war as long as Israel is always protected?" (emphasis added)

Lieberman was Obama's mentor when the latter took office in Jan 2005. Lieberman abandoned the Democratic Party in the fall of 2006. "After" is very, very incorrect.

16. You're right. Lieberman was only promoting the WAR in 2005.
And Obama still chose him as his mentor.

At the same time Hillary had been working against the war for about two years.

So much for Mass Murderer Hillary and Peace Candidate Obama.

18. You Must Love Hyperbole, It's Not a "Massive" Error, Read On Please:
You Must Love Hyperbole, It's 1 Small Error in Time Placement, Not a "Massive" Error, Read On Please:

I'm mainly ASKING QUESTIONS to figure out who Obama really is and to get someone to make him respond to what his stands on different issues are.

There is a plethora of information in millions of news articles about every subject that appears in the news -- far too many for any one person to keep track of in his or her head or research every minuscule item -- and not make a small error somewhere -- let alone having a prayer of posting anything in a timely fashion.

There were a number of elements I needed to get together and edit into a coherent post. Some were outright making me fear what Obama will do, and some were just a mental itch, little things like Obama press aide Vietor claiming Lieberman was assigned to Obama, when the Truth is that Obama picked Lieberman.

And keeping track of when each step of that issue took place and the others I got my time-line skewed a little bit on THIS ONE THING. But here's what I found on the subject:

Lieberman & Obama -- Who Picked Whom:

The article at this URL indicates that Obama was stumping for Lieberman to get the people of Connecticut to send him back to DC no matter what party:

http://boston.com/news/local/connecticut/articles/2006/03/31/obama_rallies_state_democrats_throws_support_behind_lieberman/

Here's another better article about this by Alexander Cockburn: "That’s right - Joe Lieberman is Obama’s mentor, and Lieberman brags that Obama picked him, not the opposite."

http://pieceofmind.wordpress.com/2007/01/18/obama-lieberman-and-the-dlc/

And another: "Obama did support Lamont -after- Lieberman defected. However note also that Obama -chose- Lieberman to be his "assigned" mentor in the Senate knowing full well how hawkish and GOP-leaning Lieberman was. I believe this indicates that supporting Lieberman was Obama's genuine position and supporting Lamont just a political face-save."

http://panmetron.blogspot.com/2007/12/would-obama-pull-lieberman.html

This IS the correct info and if you want to see the article in the Hartford Currant about it, you have to pay for a subscription -- which I'm not going to do -- especially to further prove a point about this to people who have no interest in the Truth or findin out who their candidates really are.

17. Shouldn't Hillary Reject Bill's Pardon of Marc Rich?
I think this is a fair and important question. First, HIllary is opening the door by asking Obama to repudiate various supporters.

Second, Bush will be in the position of completely pardoning Scooter Libby? How can Hillary effectively address Bush's attempts to cover up his crimes through pardons when she has to deal with Bill's pardon of Marc Rich?

So, in response to your laundry list, here's a direct question that Hillary should answer. She relies on Bill's experience as her own. Then, she should have to explain one of his last acts as President in pardoning a prominent fund raiser.

Afterall, if Tony Rezko is relevant, isn't Marc Rich, which involved the excercise of presidential power, even more so?

"Couldn't Obama find a real Democrat to mentor him?"

did you really type that? no, of course not. you reproduced it like a drone from your spammer list. Like most of those other baiting questions, all unibombers obviously cut and pasted from a reactionary list of bullet points whose only intentions are to falsify, distort, and smear and whose only results, any one of them, you have a handy list of further manufactured smears, distortions, and falsifications to distend the tumor you're attempting to plant.

you're not sincere. even if you present yourself as performing some valuable service. even if by some god-forsaken chance you've fooled yourself into thinking there's some nobility or integrity in doing what you're doing. Only the lowest scum of the earth is capable of "Couldn't Obama find a real Democrat to mentor him?" and I hope to god everyone here and all the other sites your spamming can see that.

How much they paying you for your soul?

eff you pal.

don't bother with the witty self-aggrandizing reply, Ignore is a handy function.

ho lord, i'm sorry that nobody's taking you serious here. you might learn some lessons from how much of a dead give-away of a spammer you are. i'll tell you what, I'll help you out. when you come back around with a new user name, or go trolling like a missionary in a bozo costume to your other sites, tone it down man. if your real intent (which we know it's not, but for argument's sake) is to get through to an opponent's supporter and change their mind, flinging shit at them like a monkey doesn't tend to be an effective strategy. it's a dead giveaway that your intents are, ahem, corrupt and phlegmatic, as i indicated in my last post. you want to just rant to people on your own side, go ahead and preach to the choir: it serves you not one whit. you want to address rather than instigate, find some way, i know it's hard, to come to people on their level. you'll have to mask all that bias, veil all that vitriol, temper all that hate, swallow all that pride, but i'm sure you'll find a way.

that piece of advice was free, just b/c i feel so bad for you. i was about to click ignore when i saw you posted that other thread, and thought well ain't that cute, he's so persistent.

really hitting ignore now, and outta here. may we meet again in your next incarnation.

35. Well you can always ask him yourself...here are my answers.
Why Hasn't Obama Been Asked & Called to Answer The Following:

What are Barack Obama's bedrock positions on anything we voters can rely on? This question doesn't make sense.

Why has Obama changed the position he claims he had back in 2003, against the war? He hasn't changed his position. He always thought it was a dumb war, as do I.

Obama made promises and/or let the people believe that he would stop the war and bring the troops home. And he will.

BUT NOW HE SAYS HE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEND MORE TROOPS INTO IRAQ if he finds that Al Qaeda has a base of support there... which it appears they do have and have had since Bush got us into the war over there... so which is it? If, after we leave, Al Queda starts taking over, then we will have to go in and do something about it. Right now they seem to be minimal in comparison to the problems within the Iraqi people themselves.

IS OBAMA GOING TO BRING THE TROOPS HOME OR SEND MORE IN -- based on what he knows right now?! Bring Troops Home.

Why did he at one point support the protection of the Palestinians in Gaza against Israeli abuses, but now has withdrawn his support and is willing to to let Israel take another strip of land away from the Palestinians, which will displace 1.5 million people, possibly killing many of them? I'm not following this one.

Why did Obama pick Lieberman to be his mentor in Congress, after Lieberman had dumped the Dems to become a so-called "Independent" but marching in lock-step with Bush all the way on the war as long as Israel is always protected? Lieberman was a Democrat until 2006.

Couldn't Obama find a real Democrat to mentor him? Lieberman was a real dem at the time.

Why was Obama for the bombing of Iran in 2004 and against it in 2007? Obama was not for bombing Iran in 2004. He was open to the possibility of taking out nuclear weapons, but as we all know they don't have any yet.

With regard to Social Security, why did Obama say in May of 2007 that cutting benefits for Social Security and raising the age of retirement "should be on the table" -- in other words fair game for consideration? Who cares, now he wants to raise the caps and I am absolutely cool with that.

However, by Nov he seems to have backed off that by saying that cutting benefits should be "off the table" -- BUT THAT'S NOT A STRAIGHT ANSWER.

IS IT HANDS OFF SOCIAL SECURITY OR NOT? CAPS OFF!!!!

Why did Obama leave his supporters in SC thinking he'd be tough on illegal immigration, and has now wooed the Hispanic vote, by making Hispanics believe he's on their side and going to help them out? I don't think saying you are going to give licenses to illegal aliens can ever be played as "tough on illegal immigration".

What exactly were his actual dealings with Tony Rezko? What does the 3 year investigation of Rezko -- Obama's friend for 17 years -- reveal about Obama that the voters would want to know? Rezko was his friend and contributor. Obama didn't know that Rezko was screwing up his finances and the doing such shenanigans until later. When Obama bought his house, Rezko bought some land next to Obama's house and offered the exact same amount as another bidder for the property. Later on, Obama bought a strip from Rezko for higher than the appraised price.

What IS Obama's position on NAFTA? He wants to reform NAFTA to provide the job safety standards and other protections.

Sending people to his website to read his answers is not going to cut it. The written word can be altered, or claimed to have typos and errors.

I want to hear these answers from Obama's own mouth. You won't hear these things from his own mouth unless you ask him directly.

What specifically and exactly are his stands on these issues?
