But I wish Barack would get better answers to some of his perceived troubles.

I am certain that Hillary has prepared for the GE so am less worried about her.

Still, there is simply no contest between either of our candidates and those on the republican side. No contest. I mean, it's not even close.

3. K&R
I agree!

For those folks who swear up and down they won't vote for the Dem candidate if he/she is not their pick, please think about it. Folks, do you REALLY want McLame in office? Do you really want him picking the next SCOTUS appointee (or two or three)?

Not me.

I was an Edwards girl, and while I was sorely disappointed that he suspended his campaign, I'm not going to sit home in November. Whether it's Clinton or Obama as the nominee, they will get my vote.

I canNOT, NOT, NOT abide the thought of another war mongering Repuke in the White House!

7. It's spelled Moron. 'Moran' is slightly offensive to Irish people, since it's a common Irish name.
And I say it's the worst thread title EVAR.

As long as the Democrats hold the White House.

Let me once again put my family on the back burner so that everyone else can talk about how wonderful Mr. Obama and Ms. Clinton are.

Gotta tell you, this stuff gets real old, real fast. I keep getting told that I HAVE to vote for them because they're Democrats. I'm 44 years old. I don't need anyone to tell me who I HAVE to vote for. Neither candidate deserves my vote. And they sure as hell don't deserve it because they're Democrats.

And, sorry to say, that IF I do vote for either of them it will be with my nose held tight, because I think they're both terrible.

15. This is very simple math. You've got 3 choices in Nov
#1) Don't vote (or vote 3rd party - same dif.)

#2) Vote for the republican

#3) Vote for the Democratic nominee

-----------

Are you saying that options #1 & #2 will further your interests more than #3?

Will keep me in limbo just as the Republicans have done.

While I agree with Democrats on many things they have not really been all that helpful with the issue of gay rights. Seems that most Dems are walking on eggshells to do what's right.

While I will vote for the Democratic nominee in November it is merely because they're the lesser of evils, not because I believe in them.

However, do not equate my choice with acceptance. If there were any viable alternative I would take it. In a heartbeat.

And before you jump down my throat as being a one-issue voter I suggest you look here, BuffyTheFundieSlayer sums it up pretty well:

My sister is gay and is a proud, devout Democrat.

Peachy-keen, hunky dory hardly, but one hell of a lot better than dealing with the GOP.

BuffytheFundieSlayer makes her case ... Buffy isn't, however, trying to suggest we sit back and let the GOP win.

53. You have your issues, I have mine
Just because your priorities are not the same as mine do not make either of them unimportant to us.

My priorities are having my family taken care of after my death. Paul receiving the money that I paid into the federal government for 30 years (at the current time). My rights to make decisions for him because we're married, not because we had to sign papers for power of attorney.

So, please, don't presume that because the war and the economy aren't first on my to-do list that my reasons are any less important. To my family, at least.

I don't have any issues but the survival of my country. I'd love to see my sister able to legally marry and have all
the other things afforded straight people. But passively allowing the GOP to win because everything isn't as I
would like it to be? Give me a break.

Also, what are you doing on a Democratic message board if you're in favor of the GOP? At this point, there is no
other option -- you either support the Democrat or the GOP (the party of active, coordinated homophobia).

As I said earlier in the message:

"Will keep me in limbo just as the Republicans have done.

I find it rather interesting that people will accept nothing less than lock-step acceptance. Why do I feel like I *AM* in the Republicans sometimes?

74. Please learn to read.
My FAMILY means more to me.

I've voted Democrat in every election since I was 18. Almost 25 years. And, for my GAY family, I find being used as a chip in a game to get elected irritating, frustrating, and downright annoying.

I also find it annoying that people assume that the issues they hold near and dear to their heart should matter to everyone. I do not ask you to compare my issues to yours. I merely said they were the most important things to ME.

You see, Redqueen, being a second class citizen in my own country isn't really a cakewalk. I pay my taxes. I work hard. I have a man whom I love deeply and have for nearly 21 years.

And still we have no rights. Forgive me if I put those things ahead of others. I've voted for your reasons for nearly 25 years. Now I'm looking out for me. Damn me for being selfish.

A life long Democrat, decades of observation increasingly lead me to believe it's purely show business.
The reward for me is in pain reduction as I can vote for the Dem. and be relatively sure that should they win, some good will come of it as a result of maintaining the
illusion of a two party system.

It's not like they stood up to Bush and his cronies. They cow-towed to everything Bush wanted. We threatened to write letters. We threatened to impeach. We did everything but threaten to hold our breath till we turned blue (though I may have missed that somewhere along the line).

The Democrats were given both houses in Congress. What did they do with it?

Dems need to find a spine. Quickly.

27. I think the porblem is that most people fall for this game that our...
politicians play, its like watching WWE wrestling. Its fake and it just divides the American people into sides so we can be manipulated easier, together we stand, divided we fall. No matter who goes in there, I would bet it all that they wont touch any of the laws that would get Americans in the streets. Everyone points to Roe v Wade but I hate to tell you, thats just a tool to separate us, they wont touch that until they have complete control of us and know that there wont be an uprising of any sort.

I see so many people around here that seem very intelligent but when it comes to politics, for some reason I see a lack of common sense all over this board. There is so much info out there that could help people see what they are doing to us and our country but people refuse to look or admit whats happening.

I feel for our childrens future because of what so many allow, its not the corrupt that are the problem, its the enablers!

51. No that is not all!
I am not just going to not vote for Clinton if somehow she manages to slime her way to a win.. I will leave the party.

Clinton in my view has given the republicans a chance to win against the democrat that no republican could ever dream of. The slimeball republicans will have to be dumber than bush to miss this chance. If the party voters want to reward betrayal for personal gain, slimeball republican style fear mongering, and sick swiftboating tactics then they can do it without me.

That aside tho I do have hope that the voters will not give her the net gain of 50-100 delegates she needs and the supers will flock. I have hope for America and the democratic party.

You can take your fucking loyalty oaths and shove them where the sun don't shine.

57. Not a loyalty oath, more like a sanity test.
SCOTUS not enough for you? How about the very planet we depend on?

Still not enough?

Whatever. Thanks for showing your true colors.

64. The worst Democrat is miles better than the best Republican
From where I sit, the worst Democrat is miles better than the best Republican...

I'll be happy, proud and relieved to call either Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama 'President' in January...

75. Moran?
Yeah, look who is posting. If you vote for anyone that you don't really believe in then you are a MORON. Just voting for a "d" doesn't get it for me, whom ever gets the nod better have at least some of the position(s) of Edwards, otherwise I will vote "r". I would rather have someone I know is against my interests then someone who says their not, but then screws me in the end anyhow. At least with a "r" in office I would watch them very closely.... and so would all of you.

78. But what about the independants and first tiem voters?
Those people are drawn into the process for Obama. If Clinton is the nominee, I can see those voters 'tuning out' of the process. Then we are right back to establishment candidate vs warmonger.
