4. Anthrax is a question he never answered

on why he signed on to the Patriot act

The letter, I guess, answered that question.

5. That doesn't make any sense

Pat Leahy got an anthrax letter too and also voted for the Patriot Act. Yet, Leahy has gone after bushco at every turn. He's said on the Senate floor that he believes that bushco let 9/11 happen, and he's said they know more about the anthrax than they've revealed. He's opposed telecom immunity, went after gonzo, issued subpoenas and contempt citations, and pissed off Cheney to the point that Cheney told him to go fuck himself.

7. Tom was the question not Leahy

I await the trials that Leahy will convict and call them
in contempt of congress with inherent contempt.

Leahy is a good guy, but he signed on to the
Patriot Act only after he got the letter.

10. You can't use inherent contempt without the Senate voting for it on

the floor. How does Leahy have anything to do with that? He doesn't. Such a move would be up to Reid, and he knows that he doesn't have anything close to the votes- even if he was so inclined. And I believe you're wrong about Leahy only signing on to the PA after he got the letter.

In any case, my point is that Daschle's signing on to the PA is not neccessarily because of the letter.
