I wonder if we could persuade John Edwards to "unsuspend" his campaign
and get back in the race. After the job the Clinton and Obama campaigns have done tearing each other apart---if there's going to be a brokered convention (and, it looks more and more like it each day) John might as well offer himself as a darkhorse candidate. He might just win the damned thing.

IMO, he did have the best message and the best stand on the issues of the final three.

3. No thanks.
There won't be a brokered convention, and JE dropped out. I will not vote for someone installed by insiders. Not Gore and not JE. It's the only scenario in which I won't vote.

5. If Hillary stays in this race up to the convention it will be brokered...
or, at least, up to the superdelegates, and that will tick off a lot of Democrats who will stay away from the polls in November.

11. Howard Dean and Bill Richardson sent strong signals
this week that there will not be a brokered convention. SDs will get behind Obama if Hillary doesn't make a very strong showing today.

12. What are they gonna do? Kick her out of the race?

14. No. They can and will start publically calling for her to step down
and the SDs can and will endorse Obama. They all know that a long acrimonious fight resulting in a brokered convention will leave us with an irreparably damaged candidate who can't win in November.

15. And, what makes you think that Clinton would rather
have Obama than McCain as the next president? I'm not sure she would.

9. I'm getting to the point that I don't give a damn which one wins
and if either of them win in November. Just more of the same old shit.

6. I agree.
This primary is too long and too expensive. What do we get? NaDa a change.

I wish Edwards had tried to win. My money was lost.

8. I think he may very well have been close in the delegate count.
He left too soon.

13. And maybe he could get Kucinich to come back
and then they'd win every primary and free cheese will fall from the sky and ...

GET OVER IT! Edwards didn't do squat. He's over.

16. John Edwards couldn't get votes in exchange for drugs in a crack house
At some point, a candidate has to prove that he or she can, you know, win an election.

I voted for Edwards in 2004, but in two campaigns, he has now won exactly won state - the state in which he was born. Jerry Brown is more of a viable national candidate.

The guy hasn't won an election since 1998, and that was his only win.
